Default What is this?

I just noticed a small black plastic tab attached to something in a slight recess on the interior left vertical rear panel of my C7 2016 z51. It has some markings that I can’t figure out. I can pull the tab out a little and push it in a little but it doesn’t seem to do anything. I am wary about pulling or pushing it to hard but it must be there for a purpose. Please educate a new corvette C7 owner.

Pics would be helpful, but am guessing you're referring to the manual door unlocking tab that is located on the left sidewall of the cargo area, toward the rear of the compartment. Pulled to gain access to the driver's door when battery is dead.

I took some pictures with my samsung s8 phone but now I need help on how to post them (please). If it’s the emergency door open with a dead battery, since it’s inside the cargo area what is the procedure to open doors?

pop your key blade out of the FOB, insert hole underneath license plate to open the rear hatch. then pull the latch to open the door manually

Hope this helps. Go to top of page on red bar, click FAQ. Click reading/posting messages, then attachments & images. I upload pics from my computer files but I bet you can figure out how to upload from your phone.

Don’t make that bet unless you add “not” between “can figure’ !! Your instructions easily got me to the instructions about how to add an image (and thank you for that) but those instructions are way too general for someone like me who doesn’t even know what a URL is. I guess I’ll have to get by with posts and threads without images/attachments.

I know it seems like a pain but an afternoon with the manual really does clear up a lot of this stuff.

Its a high performance vehicle you spend a ton of money on, it is worth the investment of your time to understand how it functions and how to properly care for it.

I feel your pain. I still do not have a smart phone (66) but have used the internet over the years to self teach myself many things with computer technology. The net is a godsend when I need to figure out how to do stuff I'm unfamiliar with. Just have to be unafraid to mess anything up!

I recommend downloading a PDF version. Then you can search for various key words to find specific things.

and jump 3 feet in the air if the alarm had time to set itself before you used the key!
