They did a great job, I was hoping Garcia could get by at least one of the Fords, especially the way they were dicing with each other. Either way, good result, I think the Porsches were the cars to beat, but they continue to play bumper cars and shoot themselves in the foot, but I'll take a P1 and P4.

It was a good day for GM with Cadillac winning the Prototype class, and Corvette winning GTLM. There was some great racing going on.

We saw first hand the difference between the Porsche's which are light and quick up against the heavier cars. The Porsche's got the hell beat outta them on that street course up against those concrete barriers. There were Porsche parts strewn all over that course!

Not sure WTF is going on with the 3 car, it should have been much stronger and during the last 15 minutes of the race, they just seemed to be comfortable with following the 2 Ford GT's and not pressing them for position.

I expected them to trade paint trying to get a podium finish.

I don't agree. What we saw was what happens when team drivers are overly aggressive. They both took themselves out of the race, and in both cases it was the Porsche's who initiated contact.

Among drivers of all teams, the Porsche drivers are not terribly popular because of their "dirty" driving tactics.

They probably had a strategy not to get wrecked on the last turn this year which I believe has happened in the two previous Long Beach races.

It was exciting. I really thought the two Ford GT's were gonna take each other out with how they were going the last 15 min.

On another note that was some class of Milner to move aside at the very end for the Cadillac prototype to pass. Great day for GM!

The Porsches have been aggressive (overly so) the last couple seasons, throwing away more than a few possible wins. I can't figure out their thought process on that, as their cars are good (even if not a "real" 911, being mid-engine) and most of the drivers have P1 experience. Both cars yesterday, same issue, one car rear ended Joey Hand's Ford on turn 2 of lap 1, and the car was never the same after the front end damage, the other car also made a mistake. The reason the #4 car won was because it was good, maybe not "as" good as the Porsches, and they didn't make any stupid mistakes, either on track or on pit lane. As far as the #3 car, apparently it had a transmission glitch which cured itself, but they lost some time due to that issue. Antonio Garcia finished in the #3, and he's a bulldog, so I'm guessing maybe the car wasn't quite up to challenging the Fords for a podium spot, I'm wondering if he was just hanging back to pounce if they took each other out. Although the Risi Ferrari isn't in the series for the whole season this year, the bonehead driving likely cost them a few possible wins last season, because the car was always good. There's an old saying in racing that goes "to finish first, you must first finish", apparently some drivers haven't figured that out yet. These Porsche guys need to look at the big picture, and realize that if they keep punting people, sometime when they need somebody out of contention to let them by, it ain't gonna happen, payback's a ****.
