Default How does the HVAC work?

It was warm today at Fontana auto speedway. Not crazy hot, but maybe 90 ambien. I came in from my first and second session gushing sweat. More than I remember sweating at Thunderhill at over 100. Qnd ut felt hhhoottt in the car. After the second session I glanced at the climate controls. 0 fan and the number was at 62.

My question is this. In my firebird when you turn the fan all the way off but leave the heat control on hot, it still gets warm/hot in the car if I drive it aggressively. When I leave the fan off and turn the heat to cold the problem goes away.

Does the climate control reading 62 vs "min" make a difference in the cabin as far as heat?

With the fan off, I believe that sets the recirc to allow fresh air into the car. When the fan is on, I believe it defaults to recirc and you have to manually set recirc to off with the button. So, fan off brings fresh air into the car. Fan on sets vents to recirc unless you manually override it.

The only way not to broil in this car is to keep the AC on...

True. But not good for the car to run on track with ac on.

When I went to Spring Mountain, all the cars had the AC set to on.

That's nice. Me too. Of course I am running longer sessions and pushing the car way harder than your usual owners class at spring mountain. Doesn't mean you are wrong, could be something with the c7. But in general. It is not a good idea. The ac still spins off the belt, right?

They run all their sessions including advanced with the AC on, no problems, and the sessions are 30 min long.

There is so much more heat transfer into the Corvette, compared to most other vehicles, that it is going to get hot inside without either running the AC or getting a lot of cool air in from the outside which isn't possible in 90 degree weather.

Even in pretty cool weather I either have the windows open or the HVAC set to high fan speed on vent. Driving in 50 degree weather after a few miles there is no need to turn on the heat.
