Use a hairdryer or heat gun to warm your letters. Then use some nylon fishing line to saw through the stickum under the letters. Finally use some goo-gone to remove the residue..

after its all cleaned up just get some 3M double tape, trim to size & re-apply

I wouldn't bother trying to reuse the letters after you remove them, Just buy a new one, it's probably less than 25 bucks.
Agree. All the letters are not attached to each other. Once removed it'd be difficult to reapply. I'd highly recommend purchasing new as they'll come aligned on a paper strip making it easy to accurately apply. If you asked me though, I'd leave it off.
