Look for the RPO label, located in the rear section by battery under carpet (right hand side)

Have any GM dealer run a VIS report for vehicle build information, and any service or recall information. They are FREE of charge to you.

There is a label affixed to the area in the trunk under the mat close to the rear of the car. Take a picture of it then find an options sheet and start comparing.

For example, if a code says Z51, then you have the option that gives you bigger wheels and tires, a dry-sump oiling system, an electronic limited slip diff, and some other goodies that makes your car go faster around a race track.

Here's an example...

Plus look at your tire size if you have 18's & 19's on the car it is not a z51. But if it has 20 & 19,s on it that is a z51. Robert

If you have the dry sump engine then you at least know you have to Z51 package, and you can look up what that includes.

Lots of people do. In fact, probably most who buy a car of any sort don't know what they really are buying.

All you have to do is ask a very pointed question of a random Corvette owner, and see. Not the end of the world.

Congrats, weatherby460 on your new Corvette!

So way back (around 2001-ish) a guy in my neighborhood got a Viper. A bunch of us were out admiring it. I wasn't a Viper fan so I didn't know the specs of the top of my head. I asked him how much horsepower it had--I couldn't remember if it was 450 or they had pushed to 500.

He looked at me and (honestly) said "Well, I didn't pay for the 200HP version so this one only had like 160, maybe 170 I think?"

To the OP: Welcome to the Corvette family. Regardless of the options, you are gonna love it. ;-)

OP found that has ZF1, so tire size is not the best way to tell.

Not much thinking required you take your codes and match them to the list I supplied and you know everything.

... or has the ZF1 Appearance Package and is not a Z51, which is the case.

The dealership can give you the build sheet specs by using the Vin number.
