Default My New Vette, still can't believe it!!!

My first post! After a year of stalking the forum, looking a lots of beautiful cars and gathering information from all of your interesting and informative posts (and saving a fat wad if cash) I finally made my purchase this past Friday April 27th. The week leading up to it I could hardly eat or sleep I was so excited. I felt like a little kid a Christmas. So without further ado...

My Grand Sport 2LT

Welcome to the forum. You made a great choice on your first Corvette and you will love the GS! I got mine last June and still have a smile stuck on my face. Enjoy!

Glad to see another red one. Enjoy it!

I picked up my new factory-ordered 2017 Torch Red Stingray 2LT on February 1st, 2017 -- and I still smile every time I drive it. Since it is a 'garage queen' and I usually only drive it on sunny weekends, it has just 5,400 miles on it.

Remember to save the wave!

P.S. I hope that is a manual transmission shifter in your Corvette - as the C8 will be an automatic-only car.

Odd thing to say.

Not really. There is a lot of back & forth banter about the stick vs automatic (with pluses and minuses for each). Some of us prefer to row through the gears ourselves, while others do not.

According to Motor Trend, the next Corvette (the C8) is not going to be offered with a manual transmission. Someone with a new 2019 Corvette will likely be having their last opportunity to own one with a stick-shift.

The C7 is a great car - manual or auto - and I am sure the C8 will be everything you could hope for, but apparently that is one choice that buyers will not get to make.

Sorry you found it odd, but I certainly did not mean anything malicious by showing my bias towards three-pedal cars. A 'Vette is still a wonderful car that is enjoyable to drive regardless of how that power is channeled to the rear tires.

Good choice of model, color, wheels, etc. Looks like mine except for the interior color.

Congratulation sir, it's a beauty. Welcome to the forum, and welcome to the family. Now, you need to practice your best "Corvette Wave" when you meet another member of the family.

BTW, you never forget your first. Enjoy
