I recently started to experience an issue with my driver’s side mirror becoming erratic. Up until this point, I have never had any troubled with “Auto Memory Recall” or “Easy Exit.” Now regardless of how I try to recall a saved position for my mirror, it intermittently drives up or down its’ full deflection. I have never used “Reverse Tilt” but sometimes it behaves as if it’s on---but then again, at times it drives to the sky.
I have tried all the “tricks” and quick-fixes to no avail. These include: pulling the neg. terminal from the battery for 10 minutes, resetting all settings to factory default, trying a new key fob, setting “Reverse Tilt” ON/OFF, resetting both Memory #1 & #2 positions the same for both key fobs (one-at-a-time…and only one present).
My dealer WAS able to duplicate the problem. Based on my symptoms, the GM Tech Adviser in-the-sky recommended my local tech reprogram the Memory Seat Module I was hopeful as it worked a few times, but later failed again.
I have read MANY posts on this issue and tried every possible remedy. I’m clearly not alone with this kind of memory glitch. Even though this isn’t a huge problem, it shouldn’t be one at all. I might strongly “suggest” the dealer replace my Memory Seat Module next.
Stay tuned….

If your car is still covered under warranty, then yes, have them replace it. If not, then replace the car battery.
Our cars are certainly getting to the point where odd behaviors are becoming more commonplace, and even though the C7 doesn't seem to be the battery eater that the C6 is, weird stuff like this is starting to pop up more and more often.

I'm on my THIRD battery, but I'll never rule that out either.
Well, the 1st two were defective from a bad batch. I was thinking if I had a power issue it would most likely affect more than just the driver side mirror.
I recently pulled the driver's side door trim panel to inspect wires and connectors. While I was in there, I replaced the "Mirror Tilt Module" that receives signals from the "Memory Seat Module." That did not fix my problem. Since I have an extended warranty (with a small deductible) I plan to take it to the dealer next.

Please let me know if you find the problem. From day one my 2018 Stingray mirrors automatically move all the way in whenever I use the seat memory button. I’ve reprogrammed it several times to no avail. The seat retains memory but the mirrors do not. The dealer claims to have never heard of this issue.
Mine have always behaved erratically, so I turned that feature off, which fixed the problem. I never found it particularly useful anyway.
That's certainly one approach, but not a "fix." I could live with not being able to use the "Auto Memory Recall" or "Easy Exit," but to not being able to use the Memory # and Exit buttons on the door is just not right - especially when it worked 100% up until now.

Since the subject of this thread was the side-mirror auto-tilt feature, that's what I was talking about. As I said mine are very unreliable just as the OP described.
My seat auto exit and memory recall features work fine, and I can live without the mirror tilt. Thus, I've turned that feature off because I don't find it terribly useful and not worth the trouble of trying to get sorted out.
I ga e up on mine also. It would be nice to have them tilt down automatically when I reverse, but since the didn’t work correctly, I programmed driver #2 button to tilt them down.
So, you guys are using the switches on the side of the seat trim panel to adjust your seat? ...and the steering wheel tilt also? You’re doing that manually? I think it’s garbage that when I press Memory 1 or Exit, my mirror intermittently drives max up or down.
...and for clarity my mirrors drive to a random position. Meaning, when I set them at a fixed position, they don’t retain that position when pressing Memory 1, 2 or Exit. My work-around “fix” might be to pull mirror motor wires from the plug. That way at least the dimming and defrost features would still work.

Armed with a set of service manuals graciously loaned to me by Elmer (aka "eboggs_jkvl"), I was poking around my mirror ready to take some readings per the manual. Since the motor actuator has two position potentiometers, I was going to try to get some readings from them. I started by tilting the mirror to the full down position to pop the glass out. Then I thought about a trick we use on the job where we "wipe out" a position potentiometer that is showing signs of being dirty(flaky). So I drove it max up/down a few cycles then reset to my desired position. Well, I'm happy to report that over this past week the last 10-12 times I started my car and used a memory recall then exited with "Easy Exit" ON my mirror has been rock solid! Hope it stays that way.

I asked my dealer to investigate my problem further. Again, they found nothing conclusive. This means without any test results they won't perform any action. So far I have replaced the mirror sensor in the door and the mirror actuator inside the mirror. Neither helped sadly!!
