i know im getting old the memory is shot to hell.
A 2017 Z51 is dry sump oil right.
Damned if i can remember ordering a part just making sure ssince i can't check the car since it is at a shop for some things .
no i don't need a dry sump.
thanks for the answer K Jones
FWIW the C7 is the first Vette where over half the cars sold that come automatically with a dry sump .
Be sure to read the Owner's Manual carefully on how to check the oil level.
Oil has to be hot so check after driving.
Then wait 5 minutes for oil to drain down from the baffles in the dry sump tank before checking the dip stick.
But don't wait more than 10 minutes or excess oil in the dry sump tank flows back to the engine oil pan past the oil/air scavenge pump and you'll get a false low reading!
Recall early on a Z51 owner said, "I'm not going to use a watch to check oil level!" Perhaps not but then they will get a low reading and add more oil than needed and some may go into the intake tube with the burped air and drip from the air filter!
If you have the oil changed at the dealer best check the level before you leave as some Mechanics Helpers working the Oil Change Service Bay, who do few Vettes don't understand the above and some that it has two drain plugs! Many report of oil dripping from the air filter after an oil change!
For fun, I checked my oil level several days after the car was parked before I started the engine. It was >5 quarts low-below the tip of the dip stick! Don't worry, as soon as the engine starts the scavenge pump puts it back in the dry sump tank! Some say they can hear the flow!
