Default Interior cleaning

I was wondering what’s the best way to clean the seats and other “leather” surfaces in the interior of the C7. I put interior in quotations because I’ve heard some people say that it’s not genuine leather. Whether that’s true or not I was wondering what’s the best way to clean the interior. I’ve heard that certain products can strip the protective coating it is on various interior surfaces. What would be the best products to use? One other thing, I have the 3 LT so my seats have the microfiber inserts. What’s the best way to clean those as well? Thanks as always for the input

Do a search and you'll find a number of threads on this subject. Basically, C7 and most other auto leather surfaces have a urethane coating and don't require meticulous maintenance. Follow the guidelines in the manual, which is to use a damp cloth and add some mild soap if necessary.

^^^ Very well stated. Damp microfiber will do the trick. That also goes for the inserts.

If it's not too dirty, a dampened microfiber towel is all you need. I hit it with 303 Leather Cleaner once a month. That cleaner is specifically designed for coated leather. It has mild cleaners in it and offers a bit of UV protection.

I use the stuff from Adam's Polishes and it works well. It is called "Leather and Interior Cleaner" and comes in a pump bottle. It doesn't leave a 'greasy' feeling like Armor All, but neither will your seats be shiny.

It works great on the door panels as well.

+1 on this. Adam's Leather and Interior Cleaner is great, leaves no shine or reside and easy to work with. I've also found success using their interior scrubbing mitt. You'd be surprised what you pull up with it vs. any sort of rag.

I like 3M Leather and Vinyl Restorer 39040 or Genuine GM Fluid Leather and Vinyl Conditioner 88861406. No shine, residue, or smell.
