Still new to Corvettes. Driving home today another Vette pulled along side me in the left hand lane, pushed in his clutch and revved his engine a couple of time. Is this some sort of ‘brotherhood of Corvette owners’ thing or was he challenging me to a race? Or maybe he was just showing off his loud pipes?
When end I got my Harley I learned there is a particular down low hand wave that bikers give each other. I was told it was “the biker’s wave”. I soon learned that it was universal and 95% of bikers practiced it. It was not in the manual. :-). Just wondering if there is some sort of Corvette protocol I should know about?
From my experience "the wave" is very sporadic, to say the least, with newer Vettes... maybe newer than C3s.
It’s sporadic because depending on hw fast you’re going, you don’t have time to stick your hand out the window lol. Same thing happens on my motorcycle. I’m not trying to be rude
Corvettes have been waving to each other since C1s.
I find the owners that don't wave are usually the people who lease Corvettes. I refer to them as the Flavor-Of-The-Month drivers. When their lease is up they will be onto what they think is the next hot-looking car...Jag, BMW or whatever.
People in the Fraternity (or Sorority) of Corvettes will always wave to each other.
