Default Over Heated

Not sure it’s related but after an oil change and alignment, I apparently developed an anti-freeze leak. Did not notice the leak until engine overheated and dumped the remaining anti-freeze. Waiting for the mechanic to finished a cam job before he can look at it. Scary To see temp at 250. Any ideas while I wait.

My 2014 went up to nearly 250. It was a water pump leak. It's fixed, under my powertrain warranty. A tensioner was also replace under my extended warranty.

The next time it does it look & make sure that your fans are coming on the car. Plus turn on the A/C on the car & the fans should 100% come on. A number of guys in here has notice that a over heat problem but also that the fans was not coming on also at the same time.

It has been more in traffic with the A/C turn on also. But on the highway moving at 70 mph it should not get that high even if the fans are not working.

But if you find your self in this problem pull over cut the motor off for about 20 mins that in these cars is enough to get the temp back down & then see if the fans come on. Also with this car it will ring a bell r warning that your temps are over the limit. Robert

Did you check the oil level after you got your vehicle back from being serviced?

When I shut it off fans ran for a while. Running 50-60 open Riad no traffic. All the anti-freeze dumped on the side of the road.

Take it in to Criswell. Need to get some diagnostic readings to get to the bottom of this. Just my 2 cents. Difficult to diagnose the problem without the vehicle present.
