This is an easy one. Since you are already thinking about more power before buying, odds are you may wind up like many who come on here lamenting that after 3 or 4 months after buying a Stingray or GS, they wanted more power and should have bought a Z06. To avoid being in that camp, you can buy the Z06 to begin with.
I had a Stingray( I replaced it with a Z06) for a year and although it’s a fun fast car, the Z06 is on a completely different power level with virtually instant full torque available at any time. Going with the GS or Z06 are both good choices depending on your budget, goals etc. IMHO, the Z06 is the better choice by far, but that’s just me. Good luck.
Get the Z06 and you won't need to worry about any issues of adding a supercharger to a GS. Plus you'll have the boost gauge in the gauge cluster instead of having to add on on the A-pillar.
Actually I did not ask. I only asked 2 grandsport owners. They seems to be new owner too but they recommend GrandSport because I can get SuperCharger if I need more power.
Really, GS owners recommended a GS... Well, here’s a Z06 owner recommending a Z06, which already has a SC... with a warranty.
Read and watched reviews. GS is built more of track focus than Z06. I will stick with original pick, Grand Sport.
You are correct. The GS has better balance and is easier to drive on the track. However the Majority of these cars never see the track. The Z06 shines on the street. The GS is a great car but lacks the muscle of the Z06. However they are both great in their own way.
I went thru this a couple of months ago. I settled on ordering a ZO-6 from a high volume dealer with a courtesy ship to my city. Ordered exactly what I wanted and got 12% off MSRP. Resale was a factor in my decision. The LT-4 is a different motor vs. the LT-1. Didn't want buyers remorse if I saw a ZO-6 pull up along side me. GS is a great car though and it was not easy to decide. Now I'm going to spring mountain to see what all those HP's can do.
I found a Brand New 2017 Corvette Grand Sport 3LT Manual with Z07 Package. It has only 10 miles. MSRP $84K and the offer is $64K.
I love discount but I want to be cautious. Dealer says no accident, not demo car, and no story. Just discount to get rid of it since it sits in dealership for more than a year.
I read and heard many downside about this car and overheat at the track is being the main issue!
Any 2017 actual owner out there? Do you experience any issue on track and daily driving?
Anything improvement/advantage MY 2018 over 2017?
I want to pull the trigger but just want to make sure. I never owned a Corvette or done any research prior to this. Thank you.

The over heating issues are with the Z06 autos for the most part. I have a 17 M7 and have zero issues. Haven't been on a track yet though. The GS won't have any issues on the track. Get it and enjoy the M7 unless you want more power.

I own a z06, which I love as an absolute blast to drive. However, at Spring Mountain last March we did ask the instructors which they prefer; the grand sport or the z06? they said hands-down the grand sport.
Alright. I am eyeing Grand Sport anyway. If the overheating is all Z06 issue then it's not my concern. I will take the $20K off for the 10 miles new car that already sat in the dealership for 390 days. I wonder why not selling for so long!!!

Who is your sales rep? I prefer to build one too with 12% off. Mind sharing?
I am going with GrandSport 3LT Z07 Pkg. This is mainly going to be the track car and 460HP is plenty of fun. I am going to drop the idea of super charger. I am just looking to change to racing grade fluid/oil, upgrade the rubber hoses (if any), adjust camber, and upgrade to racing brake pads, and improve the handling as needed. I hope 2 years later I have extra dough to exchange for ZR1
Alright guys. Is there any side by side comparison about what you get for 3LT and what is missing in 2LT? I found 2017 White GrandSport 3LT with Z07 pkg at ultra great discount but I also like the 2019 Orange GS Z07 pkg that I found 3 available but 2LT trim. All the 3 2LT trim has over $90K MSRP? I try to find out from Chevrolet website but it's very confusing as it only mention "Available, Options, Standard, Not Available". Thanks for helping.
If buying a serious track car, get the GS. Properly driven it’s only a few seconds a lap behind a Z06. You can endurance race a GS in 110 degree heat and put in consistent laps. And, if you want to learn to drive without computer assist, GS all the way. I can drift my car with one hand all day. It’s a fun level of power. The Z06 is faster, but require a lot of skill to drive on your own. A GS will make you faster in the long run, as you will have to drive it harder to keep up. As it’s easier to drive, it’s very fun chasing and passing higher hp cars and increases your skill level as a result. Meanwhile others rely on power for lap times. As a novice, it’s better to start with less power. Just like the motorcycle world, learn skill before applying power. No racers start at the high hp level to learn.

Ha, wrote all that for prosperity lol. Good choice, then you will be prepared for your future ZR1.
