Hope you are better soon. What a bummer. But....no flat spotting will occur, and just put a maintainer on it for the battery. Don't start the car up just let it sit. If it can't be driven and brought up to normal operating temperature keep it shut down.

All good advice...but it hurts me that no one has offered to take your car out for a spirited drive, you know let her stretch her legs. I magnanimously therefore offer my assistance. Since I'm a little out of the way, how a bout I take her for a few weeks to help you out?
Please don't bother to thank me, I'm just a Corvette brother trying to help another...Lol
Get better soon,
Tim

Thanks for all the replies. I now have less concern about flat spots being a problem. As for the "slow" charger, I always leave it hooked up to the GM one that came with the car from the factory. No issues with the battery.
I will never start it up unless it is being driven. Doing that actually can harm the vehicle more than it will help. My girlfriend is going to be here tomorrow night through Sunday and she'll be able to take me out for a ride in it on Saturday if the weather is right. She drove it once before and did fairly well.....albeit on a very short drive.
I see a specialist on Monday, so I hope to get some good news. At least my clutch leg is okay. LOL!
P.S. Yes, getting in and out of just about any car is a pain right now.

I've been paralyzed since 1996 and am on my fourth Vette. If you're really aching to drive and it's going to be a while, I have a 2008 coupe for sale with hand controls!
They also make portable hand controls to clamp on to the gas & brake to allow someone who can't use their feet to drive and use their hand (generally right hand - left for steering) for the gas/brake. No modifications to the vehicle are necessary...
https://www.allegromedical.com/trave...A#1192-9F2EF36
I used these clamp-style hand controls for about 15 years before finally finding a much better system for my most recent Vettes. Temporary solution for about $270.
Follow the physical therapists' instructions and heal quickly so you can enjoy your car (and other things) soon!

I am sorry to hear about your injury and can certainly relate. The week before last Christmas the dogs pulled me down the front steps and I tore my quadricep tendon. Had surgery Friday before Christmas.
I'm still in the leg brace during the day and just squeezing into my Lexus for about a month. Before that Uber and I became BFF's (sliding sideways into the back seat). Last week surgeon did a manipulation to break scar tissue and no end in sight.
I just walk by my C7 and sigh.
I wish you good luck with your recovery.

My bad. It is Monday, MAY 14th.....not 15th.
I hope to get good news. The pain has subsided and is now at a 'discomfort' level unless I try to bend my knee. I have about 1/4th of my "bendability" back - without searing pain - which I see as an improvement. I leave the immobilizer on all the time, unless I am in bed.
Up until two days ago, it hurt like crazy if I moved it at all. I can stand on it if need be (although I try not to do that) and everything is totally fine below the knee. The pain is from my quadricep, which does seem to be healing.....albeit slowly. The injury occurred ten days ago.
Keeping my fingers crossed. To all of you out there, never take your mobility for granted!

The PSS don't seem susceptible to flat spotting so no worries there. And with all the rain you aren't missing any good Corvette weather. I'd wager there are very few of us here in the Mid Atlantic who had theirs out this week. Good luck with the recovery. Your C7 misses you!

Sounds like it's time for your son to learn to drive a stick.
On May 1st, I took a bad fall while at work and injured my right leg. I have a minor fracture on my patella (kneecap) and muscle damage to my quadricep. I am home on workman's comp and have to wear a knee immobilizer (kind of a large plastic & velcro brace) and am using crutches when having to walk more than 50 feet or so. I will get a more complete diagnosis from the orthopedic specialist whom I see on Monday, the 15th.
I am not able to drive ANY car at all right now, since I cannot bend my right knee. I have been getting around by having my girlfriend, my son and my neighbor give me a lift if I need one. I last drove my Corvette on Saturday, April 28th and - fortunately - cleaned it thoroughly before putting it back in my garage. I guess I should be happy about that.
Never take your mobility for granted, folks! The weather has gotten better, the leaves are all green now and the Corvette is eager to go somewhere..........but here I sit. Argh!
My son is grown and lives 40 minutes away, but he cannot drive a stick. My only other choice is to let my girlfriend or next-door neighbor drive it with me being the passenger (DOH!). I hate to let it sit any longer than necessary.
Should I be concerned about "flat-spotting" my tires if it sits longer than thirty days? I have the run-flat OEM Michelins on it.
Cheers!

I had a visit with the specialist on Monday and he scheduled me for an MRI today (Saturday) at 9am. I can feel my knee healing and I have about 30 to 40% flexibility with it now before it hurts like mad. He said there is some damage to my ACL, but he will not know for sure until we get the results back.
I am able to drive my automatic Honda Accord quite well now.....even with my knee immobilizer in place. My girlfriend took me for a ride in my Corvette last weekend, which felt wonderful. My son definitely needs to learn how to drive a manual transmission car, but he's not going to learn on the Corvette!
The weather right here is really crappy anyway, so the Corvette is staying in the garage for now....regardless of my knee. The doctor is keeping me out of work until after Memorial Day - but it may be extended after the MRI results are back. I want to return to work as soon as possible, but I want to make sure my knee has healed enough to do so.
I hate having to deal with all the workman's comp stuff, but it is what it is. I have not missed a day of work for injury or illness in over 30 years before this - so it pretty much is driving me crazy. I know I feel like a slug and I have gained at least five or six pounds! Operation Fatboy has begun!
Anyway, we have a Corvette club function on Memorial Day. About 25 of us are participating in a large parade in a nearby town - along with a Ford Mustang club and a group of bikers. If I feel up to the task, I will drive it. Otherwise, my girlfriend will have to handle things and I will be her passenger.
I can feel my knee is healing and my hope is that I do not need any surgery. Thank you for the replies and the kind words!

I can certainly relate to your situation. Purchased my C7 in late December 2016. My previous Vette (C5) was an automatic but I was ready to get back to a stick so I got one with the M7. Unfortunately living in Illinois at the time, this was not prime driving season for a Corvette
In late April of 2017 I fell and tore my right rotator cuff. Right arm totally useless. Finally had surgery in early June and by September was able to use my arm enough to shift gears even though I was still in PT.
My car was not even started for almost six months. During that time I kept it on the CTec charger that I got with the car. No problems at all.
Hope you get some good new soon. I know it just about killed me last summer every time I would go out to the garage and see it sitting there and not be able to take it out.

Had the MRI yesterday, but will not get any results until Tuesday or Wednesday. Keeping my fingers crossed!
We are in "monsoon" season these days - rain chances every day until Thursday. Hate to see my Stingray sitting in the garage, but it is better than having it sit motionless on a sunny day.
Hoping to be able to drive it on Memorial Day in the parade.
Thanks for the kind words!

You can be thankful for one thing. At least it wasn't your clutch leg.
