So it was looking like a decent day and I had time to kill so I decided to replace my 30 year old garage door opener (mind you I bought a new one in December). I had a light work load today and I was paying a tech to do nothing so I figured it was a good thing to bag out. I pulled my car onto the driveway and proceeded to install the opener about 3/4s of the way through the install a storm rolled in may car has never been so dirty! I don't understand where and how so many seeds/tree crap came from but my car is covered then it rained to complete the job. I will have to spend hours cleaning the car now. At least I have a brand new opener with safety beams to protect my dog from getting hurt. I really like this new belt drive it is so quite and the remotes have been learned into 3 out of my 5 cars already. I still have another door to do but that side will be much easier no car and if I act soon no motorcycle either.
WoW, I read your thread title and thought something terrible must have happened.
Gees, wash your car and get over it. Hope you never have a accident in it.

I thought the garage door must have crashed down on the car.
Washing the painted surface is the easy part it's cleaning every crevice that will be the PITA! The car usually would never leave the garage if it was going to rain however it was sunny when I started the project ithat changed quickly

Its much better to drive my Corvette in the rain than ride one of my Harley's....

It's a freaking Chevrolet that's depreciating whether you drive it or not. Quit obsessing over it and drive it - even in the rain.
That bastard!
I drive my car plenty I have about 5000 miles on it for a 17 that's a lot!
I have more miles on mine then my mother has on hers and she lives in FL and it's her DD.
I have 5 cars one of which is my work truck that is the same age and has 29k miles. I drive the vette whenever I can and been caught in the rain several times I just hate having to clean it. This time it wasn't so much the rain as it is the tree crap that has now been washed into every crevice. It is going to rain everyday this week so I will have to wait to clean it. I have a Honda Valkyrie in route should be here anyday now and this will take me days to clean up but that can be done in the garage over the weekend.

I see your error. I needed to replace garage door openers, let my then-12-year-old son do it. No fuss, no muss. (Well, wife did come home and ask if I knew son was doing the job. "Of course. He can't hurt himself, no electricity involved until the end when he plugs in the openers, and he'll ask if he needs help.")
I own an Alarm and Telephone company we install everything from Cameras to TVs installing a garage opener is no big deal I just needed to find the time. The storm rolled in quick and it made a mess of the neighborhood my car it far from what I would call dirty it will take a good detailing to clean it up. My wife is a it **** when it comes to cleaning the car so it will be a top to bottom cleaning which would be no big deal it we would ever get a decent weekend to do it. I have a bunch of cars to clean but I don't really care if I drive them through a car wash. I hope to have a few hours without rain this weekend.
