Loaded or Standard # of Options?

Burning Brakes
By the way...Z51 is an option, not a model.

I don't understand why people keep saying this. Z51 is a model based off the build site and the unique VIN sequence. GM does not market it as such but it doesn't make it an option. Nowhere on the build list will Z51 be listed as an option.

The Z51 option is actually a collection of RPO codes that make up the Z51 package : wheels, brakes, suspension, differential, spoiler...

This may be of help in determining the RPO codes.

Marketing says it's an option. The VIN says otherwise. In the end it really doesn't matter. For some reason people get worked up over this. I just wish it wasn't part of the VIN so that my insurance company didn't have an excuse to charge more for a Z51.

Probably because it gave GM more than one model (plus coupe and Vert option) to choose from. Either way, mine is a Z51 model.
That's my story, and I'm sticking with it!!!

It's a "model" if a manufacturer decides to call it such. It's a meaningless term.
In 2014, Z51 was a separate "model" and was listed as such on the website and literature. When the Z06 debuted the next year, it became an optional "package" on the Stingray. The car didn't change at all, but it was just marketed differently. Equipage is all that matters.
However, to this day it still carries a different "model code" (1YX07) vs. the base Stingray (1YY07). GS is 1YW67, Z06 is 1YZ07, and the ZR1 is 1YV67. Look at any C7 listing, and you'll see what GM calls the "model code," which will be one of the above.

Who care about "labels;" more importantly, does it have, is it equipped as YOU want? Pure and simple, imho. All the best!

Yes, exactly.

Call it what you want but I think most know it is an option package. Of course you can put Z51 emblems/decals on it and like magic you can convert it to a model for the car shows etc.

The common denominator and most important; we all drive a Chevy Corvette no matter what codes or model is assigned.
So go out today and remind the world what your NPP sounds like @5k...that is only if you have that code installed!

But it is funny that some actually get upset or concerned one way or another, and yanking some chains is irresistible from time to time (especially about the '14).
