I have had multiple GM vehicles my whole life, I always do long tube headers as one of my first upgrades, always installed by the same installers. No issues. I have worked with the installers 20+ times. I have used BBK and KOOKS in the past never an issue. However My texas speed long tube headers have been nothing but an issue. They have no where to just plug in the forward O2 sensors so they told me to just tuck them up over the headers. Then once installed terrible sounds started all through the car, we checked the bolts and everything right away nothing was obvious yet. This morning I put it back on the lift and the headers are rubbing on the engine oil pan, the pipes are being cut by the skid plate because the set up just lays on the skid plate. Where they put the O2 plug holes make the rear O2 sensor rub against the skid plate. I will attach pictures and a video to show this. I finally heard back from someone from TSP so hopefully they take the appropriate actions to solve this because after spending thousands of dollars on your dream car just to have it ruined is beyond frustrating. This is also my daily driver so hopefully they act fast.
Sorry to hear it, but this is why I stuck with Kooks again. Had a set on my Pontiac G8 GT with a perfect fit and finish and experienced the same success on my C7. With TSPs being made in China, that was enough to scare me away from them, but I must say that it seems like many guys are buying them due to the lower cost and seem to be having good luck with them. Perhaps you just got stuck with a set that didn't quite meet their specifications. Hopefully they get you squared away soon.
On edit: I'm shocked that there is no bung for the front O2 sensors. You have to have them installed for the car to run safely.
I just installed the TSP 1 7/8" longtubes. It wasn't an "easy" install, and I still have some work to do.
I think I have the Xpipe installed upside down. There is a thread https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...s-install.html and post #7 shows a picture laying on the ground. They are saying how it sits is upside down compared to this picture. Im going to have to get back under the car "again" and look to see, but I'm pretty sure I have it under the car with the SHORTER (xpipe side) on the driver side of the car. And seems like they are saying thats backwards.
But I know the brackets for the rear pipes are on the bottom sides of mine. Which that thread says is the correct way. And I'm not sure how you flip the mid pipe without the rear pipes change sides lol.
But yeah, my Driver side clamp and pipe hit the edge of the belly pan right after the collector. . I have already taken a grinder to the top side of it to help clearance it. But after a few romps and getting hot the pipes are expanding enough that it rubs. Rear pipes were rubbing the trans, but that was an easy fix, just use a wedge/flathead to spread the pipes and tight the rear bracket back down
AND... I dont see how flipping the mid pipe is going to give me much more room where its touching anyway. The header collectors dont really "move" even if you try to bench press the car. And I dont want to break the locktight and try to adjust the flange/header at this point. But, it may have to be done.
My ARA 2-inch long tubes are rubbing the steering shaft on my C7 ZO6 I know the C6 ZO6 have the same problem I don't know what to do I guess I'm going to try high heat Lube?
I have the 2” TSP header on my car and have experienced zero issues! Not rattling, no fitment issues to speak of. I will say I had to shim the exhaust plate a bit but other than that I’m very pleased with my purchase. Hopefully they will get you fixed up!
Previous owner installed TSP headers & catless x-pipes on mine. My installer said the TSP doesn't fit properly & it rubs the frame.
I now have Kooks & it sounds throatier.
