We got the 'maybe' recall notice for a leaking fuel pump. And the caveat don't worry. Which was weird. But no issue for us. Yet. How many out there have suffered the dreaded flange crack?
Not enough to make it an issue. Probably due to some variation in parts manufacturing that wasn't caught in the normal quality checks. Obviously they could have just kept repairing them under warranty and then letting people pay out of their own pockets for cars out of warranty but they decided to give the Customers a break.
Some people will hyperventilate about this but it is sort of ho hum.
Many of us got that letter my friend. There is a possibility of a gas leak on the top of the tank, and some members here have had there's fixed already. As you can see the letter extends the warranty for that part over 100K miles. I put mine with all the other paperwork that came with my car. Chances I'll ever need to use it is slim, but I'll keep the letter for the next owner if I don't.

So, your car is included in the batch(es) that are affected. Lovely.....not!
As I understand it, if affected by the batch(es) of faulty fuel systems - your car is covered for 120,000 miles or 10-years, whichever comes first. That's not a bad deal. What about the poor schmoes that had to pay out-of-pocket for this repair?! Those, are the victims of this malfunctioning part(s).

I understand the people who paid for this repair will get a refund. A friend of mine had the problem a few months back. He took it to the dealer and they repaired it. He paid then called GM when he got the letter and they refunded him and said they were sorry.
