Well the dream came true - brand new 2019 Stingray/Z51 with mag ride control. I live in Tucson, so hope the weather allows me to keep this baby a long time. As usual, the dealer pushed an extended warranty. 6 year. The power train warranty from GM is 5 years, so the question is if this is worth it. How reliable have people found the newer Corvettes, especially the non-power train issues like computers and mag ride control?
I’d stick with the factory 3yr/36k Miles B to B warranty until a few months or miles before it expires, then contact Dennis Fichtner about extending it with one of his many GMEPP plans. Lots of our forum folks have taken advantage of what he offers, and you’ll not find a better deal! Those plans are not available however if you live in California.

the longer you wait, the more it will cost. i live in CA and got an extended warranty from dennis.
The guys I bought my 2017 from wanted $12,500 for the platinum super duper extended warranty from GM. I almost fell out of my seat laughing. After I recovered, told him you got the wrong guy, not going to happen. They tried the same thing for my wife's car, told them to forget it, though it was a sight cheaper than the Vette.

OK, unless that was for a 40 year warranty, that is nuts. I was quoted 2000 for 6 years (so 3 after B to B ends.)
I purchased a warranty from Dennis when my Vette was 33 months old. I'm a long term owner (27 years on my other one). I would rather pay more and add 84 months when the factories 36 months is over rather then buying on day one and overlaping 36 months and only have 48 total months of coverage left after year 3.

Here is another question - the warranty I bought (but can get out of) is from a third party - not GM. Do people think that is a problem in and of itself? I do get the sense that people do buy these packages. Got a quote from Dennis for the GM version he sells. If I buy right now, it would be a bit cheaper that what I have from the dealer, but probably not enough to make me switch.

The only problem I have with 3rd party warranties is: will they be around when you need them. Many of these companies (US Fidelis—look them up) go out of business. I worked in the service department at a Toyota dealer that sold a 3rd party extended warranty and after a few years they went out of business. I was one of the lucky ones that got to tell our customers that their warranty was no good.
The B to B warranty on my 2016 C7 ends in Sept of this year. The car has just over 5100 miles on it now. I just added a GM Platinum plan with zero deductible for an additional 6 yrs and 60k miles for a bit over $1400. It’s a full GM warranty honored at any GM dealership and covers nearly everything except the normal wear and tear items. Don’t know how you can beat that. Great price. Great coverage. Great peace of mind.

I will NEVER buy a non factory extended warranty again. Learned that lesson many years ago. I suggest you get out of it ASAP!

My advice: Don't walk, but RUN away from a 3rd party warranty. I've personally seen way too many of them (even 'top rated' ones) go BK.
And yes, every selling dealer will say that the 3rd party warranty they sell is "better than GM's! Re-insured by a top company!". Do NOT fall for it.
Well did the dealer give you a break on the extended warranty ??? Mine did and since mine is a 2014 ( obvious 1st year model ) was one of the reason I did get one and in the past I have gotten 1st year warranty on other cars !!! Mine was from a large dealer !!! Wayne

Exactly, I was days away from the end of my B2B, and I added 5 years 50k miles for $1050, no deductible. The extended warranties are cheap peace of mind on an expensive toy.

^^^This. The only caveat is if you expect to exceed 10,000 miles in the first three years your extended warranty will jump significantly because there is a mileage penalty.
I waited until 3 months before my B2B expired and paid $1500 for a 84mo/56,000 mile extended warranty.

Just got off the phone with Dennis, just took a few quick minutes to complete the extended warranty! Great guy to work with!

Yep. My experience as well. We’re lucky to have him as a member of our group. Have several other GM vehicles still under their factory B2B warranty period. Will be contacting Dennis again when they are set to expire.
Thanks to everyone posting about their experience with me. I take pride in what I do and will always treat everyone as a friend and not a customer!! Just a quick reminder that my May special pricing ends tomorrow at 5 P.M. MST so if you still need a quote send your information thru our new website at:

Hope that comes with tires and gas also for that price! lol
Hi Folks, thanks so much for the advice! I will be cancelling that 3rd party plan from the dealer, and have already signed up for a 7 year plan with Dennis. Can easily see why everyone spoke so highly of him. Thanks again for the advice.
