Default *POLL* Manual or DCT?

The C8 Corvette is expected to use a DCT, and not be available with a manual transmission. Many say that 17-20% of C7s are equipped with a manual transmission and that they would lose a plethora of sales if the C8 wasn't offered with a manual. However, I think it would be interesting to see how many C7 owners would choose a DCT and how many would choose manual if purchasing a new LT1-powered mid engine Corvette. This is, of course, assuming that a manual is available at launch on the C8. The DCT is said to be built by TREMEC, per ZERv and C&D, and could have as many as eight gears

There arnt going to be many alternatives out there with a manual. As much as I'll miss it. I don't think it will impact sales.

I'm ok with wherever GM wants to go with it. I might miss the clutch pedal a little, but I think getting upset over which way the mfg takes their car is silly.

I love my M7. However I would give the DCT a shot. I enjoyed it in my M3 and consider it a great improvement over the standard auto.

Its gonna really suck if there is no manual. Most of the folks, myself included that drive a manual, don't care how fast it shifts or how it's better, we want a manual experience. I drove a PDK a few years ago and it did nothing for me. I'd much rather slog through my own gears.

At the end of the day if Chevy does do a DCT only C8 I'll just jump ship, I jumped ship from my Mustang to my Corvette because I couldn't find a GT350 without ADM, maybe next car I'll try a Porsche or something else.

I can assure you that there will be no manual on the C8.. I was grabbing drinks with a friend and her husband this weekend. He is an engineer at GM. He confirmed it will only be DCT.. The manual will be no more..
