Default New car question

Hey. My 2 day old Grand Sport smells like adhesive. Good lord. How long does that last? Any way to speed up the go away process?

Also, my lights at the mirror never turn off. I’ve messed with them and can’t find anything in the manual. Are they supposed to be on all the time?

Thanks guys. Btw, I lucked out. The new car fits in the garage and I can open the door wide enough to get out! I was worried....

Did you check the instrument brightness **** (just to the left of the steering column)? If that's turned all the way clockwise, the map lights will stay on.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh. Give that man a cigar! That was it! Lol. I have to say that I feel a little overwhelmed with this car. The C6 was so simple. That C7 manual is stupid to try and use. That’s why we all use the forum! Thanks my friend!

If a coup, try leaving both doors and hatch open overnight with a fan blowing through interior. This worked for a friend of mine.

If vert just drive with the top down a while.

I thought the smell was overwhelming initially a year ago when I picked it up at the NCM but did nothing and now a year later it's mostly dissipated but now has that great new car smell without being overwhelming!

You can also take the targa top off and drive around in good weather if you don't want to resort to fans.

It's going to out-gas for a while no matter what you do. Interestingly, one of the post purchase surveys I got for my '18 asked my opinion of the smell, which for mine I did not find aversive nor excessive compared to other new vehicles I've ever bought. Btw, I've never seen a survey ask about such before.

It's not unusual, in that others have complained about that in the past. They definitely state it is not that "new car" fragrance.

I think the glue smell lasted almost a year in my 14....
