Default How do you remove the underwood insulating pad....

I have the Grand Sport blanket to replace the stock one.....how do you remove the fasteners that hold the blanket in place? Can you reuse the fasteners or do I need new ones. Thanks.

You can remove them easily. Just put a clip tool (pry tool) behind each clip and pull it straight out. They will be reusable, just be careful and pull straight out. Any tool that looks like this or similar will do.

X2 on the pull straight out. I broke a clip when I was removing that blanket when I got in a hurry and got careless.

I used the plastic type of trim tool with no issue. Be careful because when the pop out ...they really like to take flight!

OP, I’d plan on replacing a couple fasteners.

When I pulled my C7 hood blanket, a few fasteners snapped despite my carefulness and my use of a special trim tool to ensure they pulled straight.

Perhaps age of the plastic and usage is a factor. My Stingray is a 2014, and is my daily driver so the hood blanket fasteners have seen a lot of heat/cool cycles.

Do you really need to remove the hood vent or can you work the hood blanket out from under the vent?

Here's what I bought for these type jobs. Cheap, and surprisingly tough. They come in handy for a bunch of stuff.
