I have a third fob from another car, would like to program it to match my car. Is this possible without going to a dealer? I know (or at least assume) the key won't fit, but I might as well have an extra working fob.
As long as it's the correct part number for your car. If you have an auto, the FOB must be from an auto. If you have a coupe, the FOB must be from a coupe.
I reread your post and it looks like you have 2 FOBs and want to add a third, so short form is fine. It will NOT have the memory capability of FOBs 1 & 2. but it will operate the car.

Adding an additional fob is easy, the instructions are in the OM. You could buy a blank key and find someone who has a laser key cutter and have them cut you a copy, or order one from a dealer.
It will work if the fob matches your car (there are four different C7 fobs: M coupe, A coupe, M vert, A vert).
If it is a C6 fob, it will not work. They use different frequencies, even though they (may) look the same.

Thanks, I will check out the link. I looked at the keys and they match, so that's good.
