good morning. I am a new member. My question to the group i have a 2016 corvette with a tan fabric top.I have just got water stains on the top how can I get rid if them?
Try a soft bristle brush, and some Dawn dish detergent. Work it slow, and they should come out. You don't want to use any strong, or abrasive cleaner.
BTW, I had a tan top on a previous C6. They do require a bit more attention than the black tops. However, with a little due diligence it will look good for the life of the car.

Make sure that the bristles are VERY soft, buy and dedicate the brush for this use only. I use Tide detergent on both of mine as it's a fabric detergent, and rinse the car well.

Lisa, I had my WD40 out last night, and just took a another look at the label on this miracle of modern times. It says it will remove water spots also. What do you think, could that be a viable solution. I would be a bit hesitant to spray the top, but the stuff has never hurt anything I've used on. Just wondering.
I think it means water spots on hard surfaces such as glass or metal.
I'd be afraid to use it on fabric in general, because it is petroleum based, and the tops are Polyester (like dissolving like).
Are you absolutely sure it's water spotting? I've never had any sort of spotting from water, but my tops are light-colored, and, FWIW, I don't remember hearing anyone before this who had any strictly from water.
Have you tried washing it yet, and using a powerful spray to rinse? If not, that's where I'd start.
A good primer for vert top care. He suggests several products. for stains, click on the super cleaner hot button. my best treatment for a vert top? A garage. And NEVER park it under a tree, or powerlines.
I really like the looks of a tan top, but they don't seem to hold up very well.
In just the last few days, I've seen a tan soft top on a Jaguar and a Pontiac Solstice and both looked HORRIBLE.
Ragg Top makes an excellent product for cleaning and another one for protecting.
Get this entire kit...worth every penny. My 02 C5's convertible top looked brand new year after year. This kit is a cleaner, soft brush and protectant spray (beads water off the top).
^^^ But DON'T get the sealer on the glass (cover it well) or on an even close-to-damp seam. I agree w. Lisa; use something made for fabric esp. fabric convertible tops. If it were me, I'd find the manufacturer's page and use whatever they recommend. It is no longer the Haartz corp for C7s. *

Mines fine Lisa, I was just looking for an opinion. BTW, I agree with you on the WD40, I was just wondering out loud.
I believe it may be better to just leave a new quality soft top alone. Seems the more you try to keep it from getting messed up, the more it gets messed up.

I'm with ya Kev. The extent of my upkeep is soap & water when I wash the car. But mine does stay in a garage, and that makes things much more gooder to deal with

Mine is just over 4 years old on my ‘14 and it still looks new.
