Default Cup holder help

I know I've seen threads on here before, but I can't seem to find them.

I carry a 30oz yeti with me and I'm tired of it wanting to fly around with spirited driving. What can I do to fix this?

What are your solutions for the cup holder for other drinks?

Don't drink and drive. Spiritedly.

Do you get that dehydrated that you need to drink while driving?

One of our club members splashed a large Coke all over their windshield and dash during a Auto Cross event at Bloomington Gold last year. Very nasty stuff when it dries.

18 OZ Yeti Rambler fits well/tightly and I haven't lost it yet.

Add the Bottle straw cap attachment and no worries at all.

Less water than I usually keep in my other vehicles, but I just fill it with ice and carry a plastic bottle with reserves behind the passenger seat for a refill at a stoplight or fill up.

I remember reading in another cup holder post about using those little furniture stick on pads that would normally be used to protect floors from marks . I think the person used the small nickel size pads on inside of cup holder on the sides. Any home improvement store most likely would have them. Might tighten up bottom of your cup and help keep it in place. Cheap fix worth trying !

Autocrossing with a large Coke in the car is f***ing stupid.

Solved the cup holder issue in my 2014 Z51 and now have a simpler solution that holds a C7 logo vacuum stainless bottle in a 1+ "g" turn and 1++ "g" stop.

This is a PDF of the solution: http://netwelding.com/Improved_cup_Holder.pdf

Below are a few of the many pics in the PDF for cell phone users:

Problem is cup insert tilts. Spilled water all over even with bottle made snug with felt pads

First remove rubber insert from bottom, it just pulls out. You'll gain 3/32 inches deeper.

Then use UV activated glue to attach insert to floor. You how have a deeper recess and insert cannot tilt.

This C7 Logo vacuum stainless bottle full of water has held in 1+ "g" turn and 1++ "g" stop. Your bottle may vary! I always have water when I drive.

Has any after market manufacturer attempted to tackle this problem? Like perhaps that middle plastic piece being made more strudy and say click in tightly inbetween the two drinks and/or other possible improvements? I haven't seen any...

Thanks for the replies.

First, due to medical reasons, I always have to have water with me.

Second, the issue is the center partition more than anything.

Third, Jerry, I found your link yesterday and will most likely due something similar, but I would prefer not to glue if I don't have two.

Lastly, I have an idea to have a piece printed that will fit in the front cup holder and hold the center piece in place. I'm not sure if it will work or not, but I have a buddy that knows CAD much better than I do. I'm going to try that first and see what happens.

I will also consider going with the smaller cup and just carry a back up bottle of water.

Thanks again for all the replies.

Rule # 1 NO FOOD OR DRINKS ALLOUD IN MY VETTE
Rule # 2 SEE RULE # 1

It's just that simple, as for Vette runs we always stop once an hour for breaks it's just that easy

I also always have water (and water only) for health reasons. At 75 I exercise 7 days a week (as I have for 35 years) and on "back day" still do three sets of 10 pullups! Have my own gym/treadmill etc. Water is essential.

FWIW, a forum member used silicone, which should work fine as it's a good adhesive and can be removed with modest scraping. You can then put the removed rubber insert back, for example if your concerned when selling!

Frankly I have no problem drilling holes and altering the Vette to fit me. Have done that with every vehicle I've owned! I modified my '41 coupe when I was a teenager, nosing, decking, filling the grill and stuffing a bored Olds engine in that light weight car!

I'm also sure the person that bought my 2014 C7 Z51 and paid a premium liked my added and riveted carbon fiber 1) side skirts, 2) splitter, 3) hood vent and 4) chrome gas cover, etc. They also no doubt found that modified cup holder much better than the GM inferior configuration!

TO EACH THEIR OWN!

The '41 was built when I was 16. The '34 ProStreet Rod was built when I semi-retired 18 years ago!
