Default Tired of the brake dust on my GS

I’m throwing in the towel with the stock brakes on my Grand Sport. I can’t take the brake dust anymore on my black rims. Had my car and rims ceramic coated and the rims are still a pain. I’m sure many others feel the same

It's a no brainer...just do it. I did mine with Carbotech pads 3 weeks ago it literally is 90% difference, you can drive 200 miles and still have rims look clean.
Peace

Same here. Was tired of the brake dust too on my 16 Z06. So, I ordered the powerstop pads. Watched a utube video of how to change them. Simple job. took more time to jack up the car and remove the wheels than to change out the pads. Rears are even easier. Very simple job. Spent anout 1 1/2 hours total. Never regretted it. One of the best things that I every did. Hardly any dust at all and they stop as good as originals. I used a Paint stir stick to push in the pistons to release the pressure on the old pads.

I just had my wheels ceramic coated along with the car and it is sooooo much better now. Even when there is a light coating on the rims i just use a small swiffer and it brushes right off

If you want a quality aftermarket low dust pad I recommend the Carbotech 1521 pad. A low dust pad that is rotor friendly and performs like OEM and last longer. 100% non-corrosive dust will not harm your paint or wheels. This pad also contains NRS technology. Carbotech uses NRS technology on all C4, C5, C6 & C7 front and rear brake pads.

Here is a link to explain further what NRS technology is exactly: http://www.nrsbrakes.com

If interested I will be happy to help you out or you can order online here http://ampdautosport.com/brake-pads/corvette/ Use promo code z28 at check out for your 5% discount.

The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

My car had 5 miles on the clock when I changed out the factory pads to the Carbotech 1521s. I sold the factory pads here for $100. The dust is virtually unnoticeable and having the M7 helps even further. As said above, changing out the pads is super easy.

Powerstop Z26 set for me. Had them on for 18 months.... Next to NO dust, great stopping power ( can't tell any difference from the factory Brembo's).

While some folks complain about possible rotors turning brown, I have not seen it yet.

Very happy customer. Bought them on Amazon for less than $120 for the set.

I like my Powerstop pads very little dust and great stopping power. Cost less than other brand name pads. I haven't experienced rotors turning brown either.

I put them on my Z51 at the time of purchase, and they work great with minimal dust.

I did the powerstops and the dust reduction is huge. But I do have a little discoloring of the rotors. Doesn't keep me up at night though.

Got the Carbotech 1521s from Adam at Amp'D (great guy and great price) and had the dealer install them when I got my oil changed (can't lift the weight of the wheels at the moment). It is a night and day difference. Couple hundred miles so far and you cannot even see any dust. With the Brembos my Machined wheels (gray) would look almost black from the dust. So happy I switched

Powerstops on both Z06's! No Corvette tax on them either.
The dust issue is over!

I decided back when I had my 2004 Z06 that brake dust was just part of driving a Corvette...
I have noticed however, that my 2014 Stingray is not so bad.
