Default Sirius renewal

For those of us who find value in Sirius radio, I thought I’d share my experience with them:
As we all know, Sirius ends after a year (on a brand new C7). At that time, I found out how expensive it could be without some special offer on the table. Patience proved that after multiple calls from them and several mailings, $4.95/month for 12 months-not 6- and no cost for reconnecting was the best deal. This final offer came about 5 weeks after my initial subscription ended. So, HOLD OUT! They will tell you all kinds of stories that 4.95/month for 6 months is the best offer you will ever get, but as of June 6, 2018, that’s not the case.
I don’t travel a lot, but I do like the variety of stations/programs that Sirius offers. I realize it’s not the best source for listening to high quality audio recordings, but then again our Bose systems aren’t really that capable either.

I always call and bargain with them. I get 6 months for 30 bucks plus tax. Do it every 6 months and tell them to drop it if I can't get the same price. Do the same with direct TV. Works every time.

I do the same thing. I set up a reminder in Outlook and renew a few days before the subscription lapses.

I do this with two cars. Everyone I know that has the service does it.

I currently have the full channel line up and Howard Stern.

When I pick up my C7 next week, I was thinking about "watering-down" my channel line up to a cheaper plan but adding weather and travel since our MyLink Systems can support live weather, traffic, etc...which is cool for about $6 / month (in total for both). They even have a travel plan which offers local movie times, local restaurants, local events, etc.

Anyone using the weather / traffic / travel plans?

That's the same deal I just got as well!

I have had Sirius on my '11 Mustang since new and look forward to the annual ritual of beating down the price by letting it run out and getting the "renew now!" email then telling them "I'm just not using it that much... What's your best deal?" and threatening to not renew if they balk... Works every time...

Whatever the price they tell you, you can bargain them down.

Btw, only lasts for three months on a new base car, or did on my '18.

The only thing I have is the Travel Link. I don't listen to the radio enough to even justify 6 bucks a month for the music.

I do it in 6 month increments on my daily at a deal. Dropped it in the Vette as I dont use the car enough to justify it. I have spotify premium I use at the gym and on my bike so I just stream that through apple carplay when driving the C7. Always get Howard 100 as it's one of the only reasons I sign up for Sirius.

That's the same for me up here in Canada with my base model 2018 as well. Just before the 3 months was up they offered me 6 months for $30 so I definitely went for that deal and will play the "cancel and renew" game every six months and pay no more than $5 a month, as opposed to paying them $15 a month (that's what it costs up here anyhow)

I like Sirius too. But you have to tell them you're going to quit their service before they start making great offers!

I cancelled my service after 5 years of having it when they wouldn't give me the same deal I had throughout. They starting mailing me offers to come back. When they offered me 3 years for 99 dollars, I couldn't say no.

Sounds like you got your car right after I did. Made the deal around May 18th...when my anniversary was looming, sure enough: Sirius calls with the same offer.

I'll probably take the 6 month deal with my road trip looming. We'll see. First things first: Gotta wash, clean, and detail this weekend

Yes, I get constant emails and mailing from them for the same prices. They offer it to just about everybody! They have been after me with those prices for over 2 years.

I have been listening to Sirius for decades, and each time have to barter with them, to get a deal.
When it there XM Radio, listen to them, and always gave me better bargains each time I had to renew, and never had barter.
It's a shame they have to do it there listening audience.

Wow! I got tired of dealing with them every 5 or 6 months, so I finally agreed to the $99 for a year, but next time I will try to get a better long term deal.

The Sirius plan that was offered on my 17 2lt was for a full year...
Ordered 3/12, received on 5/1/2017. I wasn’t aware there were different “plans/subscriptions” offered.

Did anyone else receive less than a full year on their brand new C7?

How are you guys getting these deals for $4.95 a month. I just renewed on my 2016 Z51. They wanted $217 for a year. I told them I wanted to cancel and they offered my their select service for $99 plus $17 for royalties for a year. No Howard Stern, AFAIK. Howard is ok for a while but after a while I get bored with him. Are you getting the select service for $4.95 a month?
