Costco can't change tires unless I bring them jack pucks
Anyone else ever been told they had to provide the jack pad pucks to get their tires changed?
I just assumed any reputable national tire installation franchise, including Costco would have all the necessary attachments for cars like ours. But my C7 is sitting there now while I wait for the jack pucks I ordered to get in to give to them because they said they cannot lift the car without them.

I'd be a lot less worried about the pucks than I would about what your rims will look like when they try to mount those difficult low profile tires...

Can't blame them for not wanting to lift without the pucks, given the difficulty and expense of fixing rocker damage, especially given the well-known AR nature of most Vette owners.
Here in LV, I've always had to provide pucks as well... seems no one has them. Best they can do is provide flat rubber pads that still contact the bodywork.
I still would like to meet the idiot at GM who signed off on having fragile and extremely-hard-to-replace fiberglass/plastic bodywork wrap UNDER the body, all around the frame lift area.

dealer cracked mine, $3k and a week later I got it back. All because they didn't bother to put the rivets in the front splitter thinking I wouldn't notice. Cost them not me but you would think they would know better

"These cars were designed to be manufactured...not serviced". In my experience, that tends to be true with most cars.
When GM does think of service, they think of their dealers and the long list of "required tools". The aftermarket is left to figure it out for themselves.

Now I would also not trust Costco to put tires on your Vette - chances are you might walk away with some rim damage...

I just paid thru the nose for first class "touchless" wheel change. Best shop in town, two wheels are damaged. Next time I will stand there and watch these incompetents. No one gives a ****. Jeff is right, pucks is the least of your problems.

Don't trust your baby to Costco.

Many dealers wont touch these wheels - will send you somewhere else especially Z06 wheels - no dealers around southern mass will touch them - you need to find a good Ma & Pa local shop that will do them - I only know two of them that will do Z06 wheels - all the heavy hitters wont deal with them - to much liability I guess

My dealer was clueless when it came time to mount the new Mich. tires to my custom forged wheels.
They wanted $400 just to M/B them! That was also buying the tires from the dealer as well.
Such a deal.
I went to my local Discount tire dealer with one of the wheels and explained to the manager what I wanted and he said no problem.
He has 1 tech that mounts the high end wheels and tires and I met the tech and explained what I wanted to him as well.
In the end the tires were mounted without an issue while I watched and was charged $68 for the labor.
I swap my own wheels and tires at home with the snap in plastic pucks.
Do the swap yourself, it's not rocket science.

It can be a crap shoot finding the right place. Discount Tire (America's Tire) are recommended by some. I tend not to just assume because a "named" shop in some other state can do or not do something, will result in the same thing happening with me in a different state. Again, if possible ask a club member or club sponsor. I've actually heard of some Costco doing a great job. Regardless of who you take it to, do a good walk around and take pictures at the store to show they arrived with no damage.

I carry factory aluminum pucks in my car. I offer them to anyone who has to jack the car up to use. I don't take chances. With that said I have a good tire dealer near my house who knows how to mount, balance and repair run flat tires on my C7 Z51,
