Default My First Corvette

My name is Mervin and I Just got my first Corvette. It took me a very long time to pull the trigger on the purchace but I finally did it.
Unfortunately for me my dealership is doing it's best to keep a dark cloud over my head with this car.
I have the basic C7 with the 2LT package and I love the car but what I don't love is a couple issues that have come up since my purchase.
I took delivery of the car a month ago and in the deal I asked if a ZO6 spoiler could be added to my Sting Ray. I have the basic model with the 2LT package so I was a bit concerned about the width of the spoiler but didn't pursue my concern with the dealership and they didn't make any suggestion as to the fit. After I had it installed I went to pick it up and found that the spoiler is wider than the body of the car. It doesn't look to bad but it does stick out and is kinda bugging me. Along with that issue, the spoiler end plates were not included and we are now on the third spoiler order trying to find the end plates for this ZO6 spoiler (the short ones) that I'm now not sure I really want now that I believe there is a GM spoiler almost the same style and of the right width to go on my car.

In addition to that issue. there is a paint chip out of the front bumper fascia that I took the car in to have repaired at the same time as they installed the spoiler. They kept my car for three days to repair a 1/2 inch chip. Two days after picking the car up and a wash revealed that the chip was back. I took my car in this Monday the 4th of June and it's Friday and they promise my car will be done tomorrow.

What would you guys suggest I do to clear all this up. My first Corvette and the first new car I've ever had such issues with.

Suggest post this in C7 section. Title as trouble with fitment and paint chip. Then post same as you did......placing your location in your avatar might be a good idea.

Enjoy your Vette! They are nice rides!

Yep the dealer should have known the Z51 spoiler was the proper one to install as it is the same width as your base car. However mods are not something many dealers do well! If you asked for a Z06 spoiler that is what they got! They had to remove the rear bumper and drill holes. There are also less expensive aftermarket spoilers available and body shops that make mods that are probably less expensive. Have to ask around.

I’d do some homework and see if an aftermarket spoiler or the Z51 spoiler is what you would like. Removing the bumper to install is not cheap.

Re the chip, to do it right does take some time! Need to prep, prime, paint and clear coat. Sounds like they did not do it right the first time. No choice the dealer has to do it on warranty.

It sounds like it will all be fixed so all would be fine. Need to a little more homework or ask questions first on the Forum before your next planned mod!

Seems both you and dealer (especially the dealer) would have realized the wide-body rear spoiler was going
to be too wide for the narrow-body Stingray. The GS and Z06 are about 3-1/2" wider at the rear than the Stingray.

Where is the chip located exactly, at the seam between the front bumper fascia, fender and headlight area?
If this is the location of the chip it's a fairly common C7 issue and the reason the chip came back is because
the dealer fixed the chip (paint) however didn't address the panel 'fit' issue that caused the chip in the first place.

It's much easier to help you with things like this if you include photos.
