Thanks to Velocity TV - the coverage of Le Mans was GREAT, no changing channels, no delays - so happy to enjoy the race on TV without any issues. Thanks to Velocity TV.
Yes, it was superior viewing experience this year. Thank you Velocity for giving us the entire race, and avoiding the buffering, buffering, buffering experience on Fox Sports streaming app. The quality of the broadcast was excellent.
Yeah, I momentarily forgot there were a lot more GTLM (GT Pro) cars in this race with 2 four car teams, and AM involved. I knew it was at the rear of the pack after mechanical issues at the start.
I loved when one of the commentators mentioned that they loved the sound of the corvettes. He said it will be a sad day for him when they change it. I’m assuming he was talking about the mid engine. I just wish they showed the corvettes more than when they were near the pink pig Porsche hehe

Major improvement over the Fox fiasco. I especially liked the insights from retired Audi P1 driver and 9 time winner Tom Kristensen, nobody better to explain things than TK.
This morning the Corvette got moved up to 4th. The Ford GT ahead of it had an issue with minimum driver time and lost it's position. Still not a podium, but closer...

I loved it when he was asked if he had any troubles on the track and where they might be. He took the pointer, wrote a loop around the whole track and said everywhere. Was pretty funny.

The reference to loving the sounds made by the C7s was not about mid-engine per se, it was about the fact that naturally-aspirated, big-displacement, pushrod V8s are nearing extinction. They do make a unique and pleasing sound that many of us will miss when they're gone.

Agreed, kudos to Velocity. The coverage this year was superb and I hope Velocity handles it the same in the future.
My only complaint about the coverage is it had the one flaw all race coverage has - way too many non-race clips. I do NOT want to see old guys in sleeping bags or artsy clips of thoughtful looking team managers. I think there needs to be a TV director race coverage training program. Put the director in a room full of race enthusiasts well before the race so they can explain how the race should be covered. And let the director know that after the race coverage he/she will spend an hour locked in a room with those same enthusiasts.
Part of telling the Le Mans story is capturing the grueling nature of the event and the toll it takes on all teams. Scenes featuring totally exhausted team members in the zero-dark-thirty hours are part of the tradition in all 24 hour race broadcasts. The same goes for all the pit and garage activity.
For running mid pack or worse, I thought the coverage of Corvette wasn't bad. I heard several mentions throughout plus one comment on how much the commentator liked the sound of the Corvette and would miss it (does he know something we don't?). The was an interview with Doug Fehan where the reporter asked good questions and Doug gave good answers. I wasn't disappointed with the coverage, just their performance, but someone above posted the reason for that.
It was nice that the Museum had someone there after hours to run the simulator for the watch party attendees. At least when i looked at Corvette Boulevard on the computer at 7:30 or so.
