Default So happy with ceramic coat!

I ceramic coated my car a little over a year ago. It was a diy job, first I did a paint correction with 205 and cleaned everything per my Wolfgang uber kits specifications. I have a white car so it’s really hard to tell how well it really shines, but today going down to the garage fridge to grab some beer the light coming through my garage doors really showed it of. Keep in mind this is a year old coat on a daily driver and I haven’t washed it in 3 weeks!

It's the only right way. Yet there is a thread debating between Zaino and Rejex. Some people are stubborn to a fault.

Had it done with complete paint prep. As you know, you must correct paint first, even new from latest paint shop can be much improved to remove high spots & even out paint. As your pics show, when done correctly, the paint will have "almost" the same reflection as you see in a mirror or in your pics, same as what the windshield glass reflects. Great job!

With so many good products on the market, people tend to use what they have until it's gone.

That's kind of an ignorant thing to say actually. Ceramic is not the only right way. That's just your opinion. Some people still enjoy spending time working on their paint every month or two. And unless you do it yourself, ceramic coatings are way overpriced for what you get. It's not a magic bullet which makes your car impervious to all damaging contamination and it doesn't last forever either.

IMO, ceramic coatings are better suited to daily driven vehicles that you don't bother washing all that often but you want them to still look relatively clean.

But I KID my orange car pals. I think the car looks great in that color, and you don't see them very often either.

I have been thinking of getting one of these coatings, One of the draw backs from what I've researched is that if the ceramic coating does get scratched or swirl marks, they cannot be buffed out of the ceramic coating by what I would call ordinary methods used on clear coat/paint.. This is why I have not jumped on the ceramic coating band wagon.

Currently I am in the process of buffing/polishing mine, and haven't make a real decision which coating I'm going with yet. Dang folks on youtube make the buffing/polishing looks so easy and fast, when in fact, I've found that though not really difficult, to do it right, it takes a good bit of time. I have enjoyed doing it so far, going to tackle some more this weekend/next week while I'm off work.

The job you did looks absolutely beautiful!!!!

i’ll be Honest I was very nervous taking the plunge. Long time user of ziano and reject products, but as a daily driver I was dissatisfied with the longevity of the protection. I decided that the simplicity of Wolfgang uber and it’s reviews along with cost I was willing to take the chance. I bought a very inexpensive harbor freight polisher and some extra pads and miquires 205 and set out to make it happen after watching a half dozen YouTube videos on paint correction. I was amazed on how truly simple it was. I was deathly worried about my add on stringer stipe and hash marks, but no damage was done. This was a one day project. Wash, clay, wash, prep spay with Sonics, and wash again, used Wolfgang uber wax remover, washed, polished with 205, washed again used Wolfgang Uber’s spray, washed yet again, dried completely and applied. 18 beers (for hydration), very sweaty and tired car looks great. My car is daily driven , rain, snow and sun! I have had zero issues with swirl marks, or any imperfections that show.

Default Looks great !!!

I decided to get my 2017 Z51 White vette done today at a nearby shop. I pick it up tomorrow. Looking forward to it - although a bit anxious. I will take a pic and post tomorrow.

Got my vette back this morning. WOW!!! The ceramic coating is definitely worth it in my opinion.
The depth of the paint is way better than the best wax job I could ever do.
Plus the coating is supposed to last 2 years. So far all “Thumbs Up”.

A shout out to “Brennan Summar - Precision Paint Protection”. Thank You.

I live in the Nashville TN area and if you want more info just “pm” me.
