C6 to C7 Advice / Carfax
Hey everyone,
Looking to upgrade from my 2008 1LT Base C6 with 58k miles to a new (to me) C7 Z06.
I know the heat soak was an issue with the Z06, is there something I should look for?
Any quirks I might have missed on the forum y'all get weird about on used cars?
Anyone want to run a carfax for me? (No biggie if not)
Price on point?
Here's the link:

Looking to make the upgrade by the end of the week, SUPER excited!
Thanks in advance,
Travis

You may want to move this question to the c7 Z06 discussion and ask what the red air filter under the cooling hoses is.
I don't see it in the pictures of 2015 z06 engines, of which there are many on the inet, perhaps it is a new addition for 2016.
The concern is if it is an official GM part. if it is part of an aftermarket accessory added, and the dealer see's it, GM may void any warranty claim due to aftermarket parts added.

Nice looking ride and congrats on the possible upgrade. Looks as if it has a Halltech intake also. Few nice upgrades. Wonder if there are some more hidden around.

Well the powertrain warranty is voided by the catch can (or at least the motor portion) but I imagine it's pretty close to being out of warranty anyway, no?
2016 is a good year. You get the cameras and the faster center stack combined with the maximum depreciation. As to this car specifically, I can't say. But I think a 2016 is a good year.

Will you be tracking the car? 17+ have upgraded cooling and the M7 seem to do pretty good now. At a triple digit heat track you will need higher octane to avoid trimming pull, but not a big deal. If not tracking all years are great!

Our C6 was popped 3 times in the rear. Lightly, but all required fascia removal, new crash pads, and repainting. In 15 months from new, I thought it came with a moving target on its tail. When we sold it, the CarFax was clean. The body shop for 1/2 told me they never report to CarFax as a customer service. #3 didn't either but didn't say they wouldn't up front. CarFax is worth what you think it is worth. And I think that is nothing.

The car is a street and drag car not a road course car. The A8s tend to over heat when run on the track for extended periods. M7 cars tend not to over heat and the GMPP Secondary Radiator can be added to help keep temps under control. In 2017 GM made the Secondary Radiator standard on the M7s.
