I rarely use it but tried it yesterday and had an issue. No problem starting the car. Pushed the lock button. Held down the remote start button and the car started. Got in the car. Pushed down on the brake pedal and then pushed the start button. Dash came to life but could not get the car out of Park. What am I doing wrong.
Owners manual says to push the brake pedal and start the car but the car is already running so I assumed this meant to push the start button. What am I missing? Thanks.

Not clear if you pushed the brake pedal again, but you have to when you push the start button.
Don't do like me Randall. I jumped in, pushed the brake, hit the button, and forgot to leave my foot on the brake to get the thing out of park. Finally sunk in what I had just done. Damnit.....I was just glad the wifey wasn't there. She wouldn't have let me live that down for quite awhile.
I'm pretty sure I hit the start button before I stepped on the brake. Do you step on the brake first then hit the start button while keeping the brake depressed and then take it out of park?
1. Put foot on break.
2. Press start button.
3. Put car in Drive.
4. Take foot off break.
5. Go!
The break acts as an interlock so you can't (a) start the car accidentally, and (b) can't shift out of Park into Drive accidentally. Think kids in the car playing around, etc.

I used to work as a computer instructor and our staff got into a big discussion one day about whether to hit the alt, ctrl, delete keys to start the computer or to press the alt, ctrl, delete key to start the computer. We finally decided pressing the keys was better than hitting the keys!!

That's my MO my friend. That is unless I lose complete control of my faculties.
