Default Poverty splitter

May be a dumb question but; Does the poverty splitter from gm come in the same color that’s installed on new cars that are shipped with this splitter???

It is a flat black finish, somewhat rough. I don't have one myself but have talked to drivers at cars and coffee that have them on their car. Also it is a good trial splitter if you think you may have a situation where you may damage it, or you don't trust yourself keeping it undamaged. Inexpensive it is. If you have a good experience for a year or so, you may want to upgrade it to a nicer one. They can also be painted. For example carbon flash metallic.

Thanks for the reply so I guess that the ones on the vehicle when new are not painted to match the Carbon flash either?

The stage 1 splitter is not painted at all. The finish is textured molded plastic.

Stage 1 splitter matches spats on the GS and Z06 but that is a whole other story.

Long ago I got in the habit of backing corvettes into the parking spot, long before there were camera's.

My new Grand Sport has the front Camera's. I have pulled in Forward twice using them. It just doesn't feel natural. So I still back in.

It IS too bad they don’t come painted to match the other carbon flash trim. Here’s my “non-poverty” version smoothed and painted. I had the spats done too. IMO GM should’ve never offered these parts in flat black. It’s kinda low-budget looking.

Plasti Dip and gloss enhancer. Now it's shiny and black.

The flat black finish doesn't bother me.

Natural finish makes for less damage when you hit something.

If you can get one for cheap, you can wrap it in scotch print 1080 C.F. and have the look you want. That stuff is so easy to work with... a little heat and you will have a C.F. splitter in no time
