Wow, must have been training day. I'm amazed they didn't tear off your red rim blades as well...or is that paint?

Ouch!! Hurts to see those pics..
DT/AT have been my go to tire provider for 15 years and four cars, and I have always been very satisfied with their prices and service quality.
A month after I got my C7, I got a TPS warning and found a screw in a non repairable area. The dealer's response was "Gee... Too bad... Sorry, no warranty... Buy a new one for $385"
DT wrangled a pro rated new tire and added the Maintain/Repair/Replace warranty on all four tires for less than the dealer wanted for ONE tire without warranty...
I suspect they will make it right for you...

It's been hit and miss with me and Discount Tire. Most times have been acceptable but twice they've damaged my wheels. I pretty much stick to locally owned specialty shops now who have experience with our tires/wheels.

Did they replace your wheels?
Thanks!

My local Discount Tire has a Corvette specialist. He mounted new Michelins on all my wheels without any nicks or scratches. From what I've read, most Discount Tire's know what they are doing. But obviously not all. I did call before I brought my Corvette in to make sure they had done Corvettes before.

They told me the same.. I was watching though and I could tell they were having problems.. So I made sure when they were done to check them.. It took them 3 hours mind you.. Should have known. The Manager was even involved.. They weren’t going to say anything to me either.. But I knew better and called them out... iodiots! Now I have to find a place the does Corvettes!

Wouldn't change my oil at Jiffy Lube, or let Discount Tire mount my tires.

I'm sorry to hear about that. Hope they take care of you. I was lucky recently when I had a bolt in my rear tire on my GS. They repaired it for free with no damage. I guess its a crap shoot out there. I did speak to the manager beforehand about my concerns and he told me they could do it, but that they might damage the tire trying to get it off explaining that they are a bitch to remove. once he said that, i removed the wheel at home and took it to them just in case...

These GS and Z tires/ wheels are a real bear to change w/o scratching something. I watched a high end tire shop change out my wheels for chrome and it was a job. I did get a couple of nicks on my orig. pearl nickel but the new chrome ones was fine. I have read where DT makes them good so hopefully U will be fine.

I have my tires shipped to a local small corvette shop for the mounting and balancing. A great bunch of corvette guys who know how the corvette owners are. Cost a bit more but worth it.

Did they Road Force Balance them? Never take your Vet to a place than cannot road force balance. They don't have the right equipment to do the job correctly.

Discount Tire damaged brand new wheels I ordered through them for my 2011 2SS Camaro. The wheels were 3 piece and had to be mounted properly. DT scratched the chrome on all wheels and mounted 2 of the wheels improperly causing air to leak.

That same store also had a tech who somehow sat in gum sit in that same brand new car. Hot sticky gum was all over the driver seat. They paid for a professional cleaning of the gum but... it's gum. I was picking it off of the seat for the duration that I owned the car.

All the headaches I went through with them to get it corrected was enough to just decide to never have them do precision wheel work again. My advice to anyone who cares about their car is to stay away from DT. Of course not all stores are the same, so maybe just get to know the quality of work for the store you're selecting first.

If the shop doesn't have the machine designed to make that swap painless so that a 5yo could pull it off... run... there's plenty of "good" machines but they are 10s of thousands not 10 thousand dollars which is the kind that can do most wheels... And for any of these businesses which one do you think most buy?

such a low wage job to find a shop that has a dedicated guy worth a dam to change them on an ordinary machine is too rare to chance for the headache that follows. They are out there too. But more like spotting an albino... they exist but not easy to find lol.

Here's where reputation helps and a solid conversation with the manager and tech about your expectations and theirs. If your gut tells you no way? Leave.

just take it to the best wheel refinisher you can find and give them the bill probably charge you 150 200 Max Pro wheel and you'll never know what happened

The local tire shop where I do all my business for my trucks and trailers wanted me to sign a waiver that they would not be held responsible for any damage to my "Vette" wheels.
I told them they could shove their waiver where the sun don't shine and took it to the local chevy dealer who did a great job.

I have had this happen a lot at discount tire. They will try to have the rims repaired first. When they did this the paint was wavy and had lots of fish eye. They end up replacing the rim with oem from GM. Never had them ruin all four though. Going to cost them.

My local GM dealer that does my oil changes just got the expensive machine that is no touch. I will go there next time. Discount always ruins mine from human error so I think the new machine should do it without damage.

Not letting them repair these.. I have less than 2k on the car and rims were perfect when I took it in. It was funny, because the Store Manager was over there helping the guy. So he new the wheels were toast! They were trying to get me to leave without looking at the wheels.... I watched them the entire time! Also, can’t figure why they did not stop after they screwed up my first wheel....

They may not have had a touchless tire system. And all Discount Tire stores are not the same unfortunately. In Portland I used them without issue. Here in Lake Havasu they have been excellent. You can't judge one by the other.

Town Fair Tire did this to two of my rear wheels. They bought me two new OEM wheels from a local Chevy dealership. Took 3 weeks for the claim to be approved, new wheel to be delivered and tire mounted on it.
