Borla X-pipe

I hear great reviews about this pipe. Is there any bad exhaust smell that comes with the swap?

You probably will get a pretty strong odor for 20 miles or so till all manufacturing oils inside & out burn off. Especially noticeable at stop lite/signs. Does smell like oil from a leak onto engine so don't get scared.

At least mine had this very brief smell.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I had one on a mustang and it did the same. I was just curious if removing the 2 baffles would make any difference other than sound.

Do you have NPP exhaust ? are you z51 or base?

Has anyone just cut off the 2nd cats on the stock X pipe? It seems the factory one works very well and the main benefit is removing the secondary cats.

No,none. I am not sure what your goals are, but the increase in sound is a bit disappointing.

It is better, but not much.

I would still do it again though.

Yes just looking for a bit more sound. Not worried about a few HP as it's not noticeable to me. I'll swap to a bigger blower when the time comes.

You will barely hear a difference at all. Save your money.

i also had the stock exhaust on my Stingray, had a Corsa Extreme cat back installed, and couldn't be happier. The car now sounds like a Corvette should sound.
