if not call Dennis, get extended warranty, wait 30 days then get it fixed. Cheap insurance for a very expensive repair.. You will use warranty over and over.
If still under warranty, get to the dealer today. If no other reason than to log the issue before the 36/36000 is up. We went in and ask about it when we first noticed it intermittently. Then let it get worse and waited too long to get pushy with the dealer service mgr. Our best case, service mgr called GM. We ended up paying a $100 co pay with GM covering the balance. Still chapped my can, but $1500 was the alternative.
trouble with the Infotainment System? Screen went blank will do nothing.
Sometime a reset of the cars computers can fix electronic glitches. At least with the C6 this could work if you disconnected the battery for 10 minutes.
There are many thread on this issue on this forum.
Brand new post plant upgrade 2018. I had flickering for a period of time which was intermittent and would often go away after I lowered and raised the screen a few times. Because of that I finally believed it was a poor wiring connection. Finally the display went dark like you described. After extensive troubleshooting I found what the issue is. There is an RJ-11 type of plug under the infotainment system that takes the video from the computer up to the display. There is a triangular plastic access panel on the driver side of the center console in the front where it meets the dash. Pry that off with a putty knife and look to see two blue wires. Move the screen up and down as needed to hook them with something and give them a pull. They will seat and everything will be fine

Frosty I've had the same issue. Has not shown up recently. Went to dealer and was told they check voltage of battery (load test). If the battery is weaker than required amps it could cause problems with some electronics. My battery is 4 years old, which is about the time I've replaced batteries in other vehicles. I've been caught twice with no warning of a weak battery. Both times they just went dead. So yeah, even if that's not the issue the battery is due for replacement anyway. My audio guy backed up that theory especially with all the electronics in our cars. Even OnStar is always on (low amp draw).... go figure.

Yeah the electronics are really sensitive to out of tolerance voltages. That wasn't the issue with mine- just a simple video connector was not snug on a brand new car.
