The GM front Splash Guards I installed on my Z51 were little help stopping throwing stones from the tires. I was getting the GM protective rocker panel plastic marked until I added aftermarket side skirts.

So when I got my Grand Sport ordered the Stage 2 aero option to get full length carbon fiber side skirts. Mine are painted carbon flash. Forum members also recommended the ACS front splash guards so ordered them before the car arrived.

They are about 3/4 inch wider and deeper than the GM Splash guards. ACS also sell the GM splash guards for the rear, which are fine. Took mine from my 2014 before I sold it, Meguire's ultimate Black had them looking new! had the fronts but figured I needed all the protection possible from the wider front GS tires so purchased the ACS Guards. After a year not a mark on the rocker panels OR the rear fender brake duct opening.

This is a pic of my install with both, ACS Front, GM rear. I think they also help make the spats look more integrated.

I had no issues with the rear of my Z51 using GM Splash Guards as the fender behind the rear wheels is tucked in and short.. I have zero issues with the GM splash guards in the rear of my Grand Sport. Would say the extra cost of the ACS rear guards is needed- but to each their own.

I live in Canada...but advise that I purchased the "kit" from Amazon, and saved a bundle.
Includes 2 front ACS mud flaps, (wider than OEM), and 2 OEM GM rears.
All in one box.

Takes about 30 mins max to install.

Maybe some can post some pics of the XL rock guards on the cars. I’m looking to put these on my Z06 but I have not seen any of the XL pics of some cars. I seen you tube video with the fronts but not the rears. Thanks .

There are some good photos on the store link posted earlier, including the one below.

I have their Carbon Flash painted front guards matched up with Carbon a Flash painted rear GM guards and I’m happy with the set up.

Your car looks awesome!! I have seen the pics where your talking about. Just now sure if the XL will be to much as protruding out. Are your GM ones in the rear giving you enough coverage. I want to protect my car from all the stone chips or at least help protect it. It looks like the XL would really help. I’m hoping to pick up my new black Z06 this week.

My car has less than 1000 miles, but so far no chips or marks behind the rear wheels. Plus I would think that based on how the rear fender curves inward after the splash guard, there would be minimal chance of damage. The larger ACS XL rear guards do extend further down and lower than the wheel well, so maybe some rocks or debris can also be shot up from underneath.

I thought more guys would have more posts and pics on the rock guards. I think they look good with the side skirts and spitter. Plus the extra protection they give with the chips. I got a price on to have my whole car wrapped with Suntek. Not sure with the cost. Have all winter to decide on that.

Hmm, not sure what you are looking for. A pic showing the front ACS splash guards with the full Stage 2 aero side skirts is not close enough to see the splash guards. See my Post # 3 of this thread for a close up.

That also shows my rear splash guards that are GM. ACS was selling those for the rear at the time I bought my fronts. However I actually removed them from my 2014 Z51 when I sold it. After 3 1/2 years not a scratch on the rear panels. Same with my 19 months old GS. The rear panels tuck in far and are short. And I am not a fan of coving my cars with "Saran wrap" so no other protection!

As far as the splitter, the splash guards have no effect on their look, IMO. I think Stage 3 Winglets help integrate the spats. But a full side pic of those does not show much, below is a close-up.

In general, I think the Stage 3 Winglets (which I added replacing the Stage 2 that come with the GS/Z06 Stage 2 aero option) and the 1/2 wider, 1/2 inch deeper ACS front Splash guards do "help the look of the spats." I said "help" as the spats still remind me of my 1974 CJ5 Jeep!

Nice write up. Thank you. I’m between getting the stage 2 or 3 splitter. More on which way to go with the rock guards. I just want to protect my car with chips. Just not sure about going with the XL guards. Hate to buy them and then if not happy I will need to sell them. But I like the extra coverage it gives the car. Yours look good also. The nice thing I won’t be able to drive my new car since it will be going into the garage for storage till spring. I’m waiting on the wheels to come back from the dealer to bring car home. Just bought it. Did not post any pics yet till I get the car. Thanks!!
