Burning Brakes
I feel like Aston Martin is famous for offering the worst bang for your buck in the entire industry... and for James Bond

I saw one of these Astons at the parking lot at work yesterday, and I have to say it's gorgeous. But there are two things I disagree with in the article. The author claims: (1) The Vette doesn't look good with the top up. I couldn't disagree more, and (2) the Vette has a better infotainment system. It's Mickey Mouse. The graphics are awful, and you have to press hard on the cheap plastic screen. I doubt that's true for the M-B-sourced Aston system.

I would take ANY AM over the Corvette. But not new. That Aston, in 10 years, will cost the same as the GS Convertible on the used market with 1/3rd the mileage.
They (Aston) are incredible values on the used market. When I bought my GS last month, I considered an ‘08 Vantage. It was cheaper than a new Honda Accord.

Because this was the hack who picked the regular Mustang GT (not Gt350 mind you) over a c7 GS based on the “value” (there, c7 was 70% more, here, db11 is 170% more! AND i have an opinion because I own a ‘14 Mustang GT), I tend to ignore his articles in general except for the pictures of the cars.
That said, I would gladly own a used DB11 or Vanquish at the right price and mileage.
One small thing I can say for sure is better on any AM is the sound system. B&O systems are 10x+ the price of Bose for a reason.

Friend of mine bought a 2011 AM Vantage for $75K. $10K less than what my GS stickers for. Back in 2014. They're fantastic used cars because they start out as fantastic new cars with incredible attention to detail and design. But they depreciate FAST because they sort of fall between the über cars like Ferrari, Lamborghini, and your run of the mill super cars like Nissan GTR and Audi R8, and they're not as single minded like the GTx from Porsche. But man oh man...Those seats. OMG its like they made a glove for my buttocks.
Same with Maserati's, actually. You can pick up a used 2016-7 Quattroporte for less than the sticker on my GS. Not as fast as the GS, but oh how it rides like freakin' butter.
I wouldn't buy the AM or the Maserati as NEW cars for sure. Used? Fantastic value.

I would rather have the C7 if they were the same price, think the exterior styling is superior in the C7 and have no doubt I can get if fixed locally if need be. The Aston does have a nice interior , if the Bond films originated in the U.S. he would drive a 'Vette.

He brought up a good point - the GS looks horrible with the top up. Other than that, very close.
Grand Sport is an unbelievable value.

The Astons are beautiful cars. Then start it up and you'll love it even more. But the topic of this thread is really apples and oranges....it's difficult to compare the two.

I love the C7,but it is not even close to being in the same league as the AM.

Both Astons and Corvettes are beautiful sportscars. I prefer C7s as it checkmarks in every category for judging fine sportscars, however whatever floats your boat.

Hidden Cost
Check the cost of an Aston's oil change. You'll be glad you did. And glad you bought a C7.

Anyone who argues against the Aston Martin on objective measures simply misses the point. The people that buy them could care less about how much money they lose on it, could care less if a Corvette (or anything else) can outrun it etc. When you pull up in an Aston Martin any other car around it just disappears. It’s for people who really want a Bently Continental but don’t want to look like a pimp.
