Default Damaged rear tire

I have a rear tire that went flat because of a puncture. It is not repairable. 2017 Stingray Z51 3100 miles on rear tires with 3/32" off tires. So do I need 2 tires or is it safe to replace the damaged tire only.

Just had the same, 2016 with ~8000 miles; dealer checked tread depth on other tire. It was within tolerance. Dale

Definately wouldn't buy 2 if only one is damaged. They should be nearly new still.

Happened to me on my 14 Z51; I just replaced the one that was damaged. No problems after that.

You'll be fine. Especially since it is the rear.

If the tread depth is 3/32 nds on the other side you should replace both tires. At 2/32 nds they are worn out and become a safety issue.

One tire was damaged beyond repair. His question was did he need to buy two tires? He said the tire had 3100 miles on it. I responded that I commonly get 30K on mine...... ergo he did not need to buy two tires - just one.

I believe he said 3/32" WORN OFF, not 3/32" left. If he only has 3/32" left after 3100 miles, he sure likes doing burnouts!

My Chevrolet Dealer agreed I did not need to buy 2 tires. Ordered 1 Michelin Pilot SS ZP from Tire Rack with free shipping to my local installer. When I need to replace all 4 tires I will not buy Zero Pressure tires. I ran non ZP's on my C6 and was happy with performance and the price.
