Just got a steady CEL while driving back to the office from lunch. Called OnStar, they said it was P3400 - AFM fault. I looked it up and it could be one of several things. I called my dealer (who by the way is really good) and he can't get it in till sometime next week. He said it won't go into 4cyl mode, but is OK to drive till I can get it in. I'm fine with this, as I was thinking of getting a range anyhow LOL, but I do know I should get it fixed.
Anyone have any experience with P3400 fault and what the outcome was? By the way, this is the VERY FIRST problem of any kind I've had with the car - 34K on the clock - 2015 A8.
Thanks in advance - Tom
I haven't seen any post with that problem either Tom. Heck, I paid right at a 100 bucks for my Range, and you got the V4 disabled for free. Just kidding, Hopefully someone will know more about this code than I. Good luck.

This code means that the V4 mode was commanded, but the engine remained at least partially in the V8 mode. A bad solenoid or solenoid wiring would the first thing I would check.
Coulda been a rogue electron took a wrong turn. I had a bizarre code a couple weeks back with a CEL. All kinds of systems were off line or partial. Dealer was able to reset it and haven't seen it since.

Hopefully a simple fix brother.
Thanks hopefully something simple. I was thinking last night maybe a battery problem? Lots of reports of strange codes and CEL's etc. when the battery is starting to crap out. Car will be 4 yrs. old in September. If they don't find anything and just reset I might have them R&R the battery. It will need one soon anyhow.
Thanks again - tom
