I just purchased a 2014 C7 2LT/Z51 Convertible. I've searched the owner's manual and still cannot find out what this button does.
It is the button to the right of the trunk release button. It has a small indicator light, says OFF, and the icon resembles the wifi icon on an iPhone (stacked curved lines).
It turns the alarm motion sensor off and on. Example: if you exit the car and leave your significant other in the car the alarm will go off if she moves in the car. Pressing the button will disarm the motion sensor and you will get a message in the DIC. When you restart the car it defaults to on. BTW, it is in the 2014 owners manual on page 2-18.

2K14C7--I really appreciate your assistance. I found the symbol on page 2-19 with a good explanation of the switch's purpose.
Nice to be able to reach out on this forum for assistance.

That's funny, I was wondering what that was as well. Thanks for the explanation.
That said, could there be a more ridiculous feature.....You leave your wife in the car, she moves for your wallet and the alarm goes off.
On second thought WHAT A FEATURE, The wife reaching for the wallet feature, such technology, I want to put it in my home.

Seriously, how stupid is that feature?
Agreed. Having the wife she has to stand outside the car so she does not set the motion sensor off makes much more sense than pushing a button to disable it for the short term. What were they thinking???

Yup! This took me wayyyyy too many alarms at the gas station to figure out.

Simple solution....leave your key fob in the cup holder when you exit the car if the wife unit stays in the car. Just make sure she understands to grab the fob if she decides to exit the car as well.
It's not stupid at all. That's exactly what happens at a gas station. One move and you're trying to get the alarm off. Happy to know it is there. Jabbing that button as you exit is easy, a lot easier than pulling the fob out of my pocket and leaving it there.

Problem solved. You’re welcome!
She has her own fob that she carries on her keys with her all the time. Never had it go off on mine. Before I had it set so it wouldn't lock unless I lock it.

No, It's stupid. So stupid it's retarded. Completely idiotic.
Yeah, I'll leave my wife in the car with the keys so she can get carjacked. great feature. It stupidity at it's finest my handsome friend, IMHO

Nooooooooooooo. Never get in the habit of leaving your key in the car for any reason! Mine never leaves my pocket.

And welcome to my neighbor from Santa Clarita!
If I read your post right, you'd rather she stands outside so she can get mugged?
If you have the intrusion/inclination alarm, you can turn it off with the touch of a button Easy-peasy! Or you could put it in ACC, and she can control the radio while you're fueling .
Two questions:
1. I have it set so I get the quick 2-beep if I exit while my keys in the car (sometimes I keep them in my briefcase while flying out of state). Does that activate the motion sensor after awhile? I would think not.
2. If I take the roof of my 2017 GS and exit/lock the car, what's the range of the motion sensor? I imagine someone reaching in to steal something would set it off (that's why it's NOT stupid) but how far/close do they have to be. What if there's movement near the top of the open area but above the "imaginary" roof line?
The intrusion/inclination alarm only comes on 2 and 3LT.
The I/I alarm is disabled with the top off or down. There is a workaround for the coupe to keep the alarm active in the coupe, but not on the Vert.
The car will not autolock if one fob is present and the car thinks it's still inside, but if two fobs are present and one leaves, it will lock (the fob) inside. The I/I alarm will arm only when the car is locked.
