Lemon & Manufacturer Buyback

Lemon & Manufacturer Buyback
I am looking at a lemon - manufacture buyback and I am curious as to what most thoughts or on how much to discount the car for. The corvette is three years old.
Thank you for any suggestions.

Really need to know the reason the car was a lemon/buyback before any decision is made or any discount discussed

You are brave...I'd run the other direction and never look back. It's already been someone else's nightmare.

There isn't enough discount for me to consider purchase of a lemon buyback.

Walk away very quickly, not worth the aggravations and you can't lemon law, and the reports will show when you had enough, and want to sell it.
I wouldn't worry about discounts, if they can't sell it in month it's off to a auction.

What is the model, year and color if you don't want to share the VIN ???? Maybe it's my GM Engineering buy back. '16 Stingray 2LT Laguna Blue with Gray interior, A8...... Although mine was for the WARBLE noise which turned out to be the rear differential.

Mine was also a buyback
2016 silver Z51
I can assure you you DO NOT want the one I had.
Major engine repairs and I’m not exaggerating.
Just because they told you it was the transmission doesn’t mean that’s the only problem it had. I’m sure that’s what they wrote on my paperwork too but mine included L&R lifters-AFM-cam bearing-new engine-exhaust-3 torque tubes-torque converter. And what was CRAZY GM never knew of some of the repairs.

Why did the poll end at 30%?
It would take a bigger discount than that to make me even consider one that I knew was a lemon-law car.

Nope. Not me. I had a lemon GMC truck. They tried everything to fix it, before they bought it back. It was a major fight to get the to buy it back. So no way would I risk buying a lemon that was bought back. Not worth the head aches.

My only reference was a Chrysler 300M I bought, 2 years old (at the time) that had a complete engine overhaul. Complete and total. “Everything under the hood replaced”. I got maybe 15% off retail used price and rolled the dice as I had VERY specific information about the repair. Car was bulletproof. Never had an issue.

If it was an older car I would be more likely to consider it if I could work on it. But with how electrical these cars are and the cost of parts/ specialized labor I would not consider it with a car like a corvette.

I would have to pass no matter what the discount is.

Burning Brakes
A friend bought a buyback BMW and had zero issues with it, and was able to later sell it to a dealer who specializes in buybacks at a fair price, so he did quite well overall. Some buybacks (especially with the higher line cars) are more for customer satisfaction than to resolve any actual problem.
Presumably, GM/BMW/whoever has fixed whatever it was that caused the buyback.
But really... used Corvettes are just too plentiful for anyone to have to compromise. I voted 20% but in hindsight, it should be more.
