I have a 2017 Z51 Coupe. I'm out in the rain today driving quite a bit, but there car in Weather mode, and I was amazed how stable and sure footed the car was on slick roads, even driving somewhat aggressively in corners. The car is just amazing, by FAR the best driving car from a pure handling standpoint in all conditions (except icy/winter roads) I have ever driven. even after 18 months and 12K miles the pure handling goodness of this car never fails to amaze.
Thats great to here. I should take your advice. Picked up my new car 7 days ago and 5 plus days of heavy rain. We have had like 10 inches in a week time and picked up my car on Wednesday a week ago and sunny in 85 degrees and drove it 95 miles home and have put 12 miles in last 6 days. Ha ha. To much rain and a mess but after reading your post I should go drive now. Good post and great to here. Enjoy. Tom

I just hit the 10,000 km mark on my C7 today and so far it has only seen bone dry roads. I have other alternatives to drive when it rains so for me I prefer to keep it looking showroom new as long as I possibly can, since driving it in the rain will get it dirty in all the nooks and crannies like the engine bay. But I know in a few years time I will have no choice but to drive it in the rain, as we'll be using this car to drive back and forth to Florida for the winters. It'll probably even see some light snow during those trips too.
So it's nice to know it can handle the rain just fine (and I intend on getting Michelin all seasons for it too, so that should help even more)
I have driven my 15 Z51 M7 in the rain many times and it has been in tour or sport and has always handled great never had a problem
i have a 2015 Z51 and I will say it handles fine in the rain in weather mode. The challenge is spray from other traffic like trucks causing visibility issues forcing me to pull off and stop off the interstate.
I have more than 700,000 miles in Corvettes since 1990 and have more than 40,000 miles on a Ferrari - all have seen rain. I'm guessing over the past 28 years something like 25,000 miles.... just cars. I am not a fan of the C7 in WET mode - I have more than 68,000 miles on my Stingray.

I'm not going to attempt there moves/g's on wet roads that I would on dry - but the traction of the car and its predictability in those conditions on the OEM summer tires are very impressive to me. WTF do I know? You sound more experienced. That's my impression. It's certainly better than the C6 was in the wet. I've only had two Corvettes, a 2007 (no Z51) and this car.
Thank you for your posted about your C7 and the way it handles in the rain. So far my 2015 Z51 has never been in the rain. Good knowing that in the unfortunate advent I get it wet, it will be fine.

Astrowing, do you have any kind of coating on your windows? RainX? Aquapel? If not, it is an absolute MUST. Sometimes I don't use the wipers at highway speeds. It just beads off.

Has it ever rained in Salt Lake City. I mean, you know, EVER?
He gets it....its just a car
Not sure why vette owners make a big deal about rain? It gets wet when washed, wont hurt it. Maybe they still leak outta the factory?
The Corvette with the gas cans is a GM vehicle with Michigan Manufacture plate on it.
Who's or whomever's car it was it was on the Alcan Highway on it's way to Alaska..... this photo has been around for years.... it's commonly passed back and forth between Corvette drivers... I saw if first on this forum years ago..... I've been on here in the C4, C6, and now C7 forums..... 15 years total.
After doing wet figure eight exercises at Spring Mountain, with and without weather mode, I’m more confident in my C7 in the rain than I am in our Ford Explorer. I know what the C7 will do. While the view may be better, I have no idea what would happen in the SUV.
Wipers and weather mode, that’s enough for me to drive my C7 in the rain. We’ve had plenty here in NJ in the last week or so and we’ve been out in it almost every day.
I put her in PTM wet mode when its raining. The system is very intuitive. One of the only real risks in the rain (aside from accelerating to hard in a corner) is hydroplaning where there is standing water.
