Going to get my 3LT leather dash replaced due to leather shrinkage and bubbling. As it is black I am thinking about going with the 2LT dash so I am sure it will not happen again. Is there any difference between the two other than the 3LT being leather? Would it be noticeable?
There is a difference in the feel and texture. 3LT is smoother and softer. You might want to go to a dealer and check it out. Depending on how OCD you are, you'll be able to tell the difference when they are next to each other.
I was too chicken to have the dash replaced. The entire car is squeakless. Not a peep, but I was afraid that after the dealer replaced the dash, they'd miss tightening some nut or bolt to spec and I'd have to put up with a squeak somewhere. I just gave in and bought a dash mat and covered the damn thing.

I would definitely consider using a 2LT dash for replacement. It would really suck to have to replace it again, and I doubt warranty would cover it the second time. Of course some haven't been able to get it covered the first time.

I don't blame you as I've seen a photo where leather dash pad was being replaced and the entire dash and console was removed. I remember thinking I would hate to have to put that thing back together. But I'm sure dealer techs have done it enough that it's fairly easy for them.
My '17 GS vert is the only vehicle I've ever had that didn't have at least one squeak or creak somewhere.

Thought about just getting a dash mat, but mine seems to be getting worse every time I get in the car. I am to the point where I hate the car. Have been in negotiations with GM and they are willing to go half with me. Hoping if I could go with the 2LT it would save me money as well as not worrying about it happening again. Sad that an $3000 option makes the car look like a piece of junk. If I get another one it will not be a 3LT.
Where did you get the dash mat, and do you have any pics how it looks?
Thanks

I'd love to visit YOUR universe sometime!!!
I don't understand your sarcasm as I expect Corvette techs at busy Chevy dealerships have pulled dashes many times for any number of issues. Think of the many electrical issues alone where dashes have to come out.
Then there's rattles, the list is endless. Like anything, with repetition comes efficiency. One U-tube video comes to mind where a C7 owner got a pistol wedged in the compartment behind their monitor, practically the entire
dash had to come out and the tech zipped through it like he could have done it with his eyes closed.

I'm looking at buying a C-7 and I won't consider one with the 3LT interior. This issue was a problem with C-6's, was never solved and the supplier of the dash to GM quit making replacements. The same will probably happen to the C-7's so at some point, only a 2LT dash will be available.

It's been over a year since I bought it; can't find the actual source now but I got it from eBay. I found it for ~ $38 as I recall. The OEM is ~25% more proud of them here: https://www.dashdesigns.com/i-314066...ash-cover.html
I chose the "brushed suede"; it's a little softer looking. It's obviously not a perfect match to the rest of the interior, but it doesn't clash like carpet or velour might. I'd buy it again as it still looks very very good. I don't know if the velcro that comes with their kit is enough. I added at least 4' of 1" velcro around the edges to insure the mat doesn't slip.
My alternative was to take a chance that one of the dealers within 300 miles has a tech who's replaced enough dashboards to be familiar enough not to screw it up. Mine is a 2014; last year in the early springtime, I checked with two dealers (one in New Orleans and one in Gulfport) and they both confessed that I'd be their first guinea pig, so Dash Design seemed like a "better" alternative. One of the dealers sponsors a local Corvette club, but still hadn't done a dash replacement believe it or not. I absolutely didn't wanna have to deal with a dealer over a squeak or rattle.
