On Star has an optional extra cost service that does the same thing. It can be linked to your insurance company if you choose to do so. I haven't chosen to do that and after a couple of months of some ridiculous findings coming out of the system I stopped paying the $5 per month for the service. It was active during several HPDEs that I participated in and it had really weird results on 150 mph speeds, really hard braking from 150 to 50, hard cornering or hard acceleration.
I do have OnStar linked to my State Farm Insurance for a low mileage discount. OnStar documents the monthly mileage for me and sends it to State Farm. I have that on all 3 vehicles and get a small low miles discount on each one.
