Can members with the ZL1 add-ons tow hooks tell me if they rub on the front grill? In some of the pics it looks like it does but then others it looks like maybe it doesn’t.
I recently bought the ZL1 featherlite front tow hook and when its fully tightened down, it shaft does rub against the bottom of the interlocking grille holes

Thanks for the reply. I asked a memeber on FB and he said his does not rub. If I was a hard core racer it wouldn’t matter but I’m not and I would rather find one that looked good with out distorting my grill.
It depends on whether or not you have a Stingray or a Z06/GS grille. The Stingray grille has a removable section that lets the hook fit through the grille easier. With the Z06 grille the bar will touch the piece of the grille above the hole. You can avoid this to some degree by not threading it in all the way. However, if you do use the tow hook and it is tightened down almost all the way there is sufficient play in the screw rod (stock and ZL1) the rod will still contact that upper piece. Mine broke although it takes a sharp eye to see that is broken when the tow hook is installed. When it is not installed you can't tell the piece is cracked.

Np. Like the above member said, it depends on which grille you have. the GS/Z06 grille is the one it slightly rubs but doesn't distort it. You can't tell from a foot or two away and it doesn't place enough pressure on it to crack it. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...1&d=1474908485
The link above shows a real good example, mine doesn't quite flex as much though
I have the ZL1 tow hooks with a Z06 grill mounted on my Z51.
Somehow, (manufacturing tolerances?) the new grill is located in such a way that the grill falls directly in the line of the towhook receiver and is impossible to push it up or down enough to thread the towhook into the receiver.
After some considerable agonizing and hand wringing, I finally decided to carefully cut out just that one little piece of the grill and it is barely noticeable. It's a non issue for me. No regrets.
Unfortunately, my car is currently in the shop with brkn valve spring so i can't get a picture. Will do so, when I get it back.

I have a '14 Z51 and have the ZL1 Add-ons tow hook installed and it does not rub. Like some others above pointed out, there's a section of the grill that pops out where this goes.
This pic is just for fun.... although technically, you can still see the tow hook here
I have a 2018 GS and I've installed the ZL1 featherlite tow hook. It does touch the grill and the photo in the link in post #5 is a very good depiction of how much it pushes against the grill.

Do you happen to have a close-up pic of your grille slightly modified for your tow hook?
Regarding front tow hooks on 2015s...I read somewhere that the 2014 and some 2015s don't have the front receiver for a tow hook. I've looked at mine and can't tell either way. Is there a cover that would need to be pulled off to reveal the front tow hook receiver? I have the Z06 grill. The location where the receiver would be looks like there is a slight bulge or something. I haven't inspected closer tho...I always seem to forget when I have it on my lift for there reasons.

I have a ‘15. The receiver threads in the front are clearly visible on mine. There isn’t anything covering it.

Put some black tape on the underside of the grill vane before installing the hook. Your tow hook rubbing will be the least of your known damage when tracking your car. Everything gets abraded in the long run.

Move back two steps and its hardly noticeable. Couple years now and never thought about it nor had anyone comment on it at a few car shows and 4 track events. Total non issue for me

You're right, it's not terrible - but it does look a bit like bird strike damage.
