Default Weather Stripping Protectant

Any recommendations on which weather stripping protectant to use on the rubber of my C7. I used GM silicone grease on my C5....but that stuff was thick and would collect dirt, no matter how much I wiped it clean. Then I would get black streaks on my white shirt trying to get into the car. Although it did a great job keeping my C5 leak proof even after 13 years.

GM's subtle way of telling you to wear black, Mr. Cash.

But, seriously, there are other silicone lubes that work fine. I have something that comes in a smallish tube that is not so viscous and works fine for me. Unfortunately, I'm not where I can check the brand, etc. However, I think it came from and electronics store. All the best.

(Btw, I've used it on my C5 for almost 18 years. )

Not greasy. Doesn't attract dirt. Very good.

I have been using Aerospace 303 on the vinyl/rubber/leather parts of the four cars I've owned since 2003 - none have had any rubber deterioration, despite varied shelter from garage to full sun. I do a full 303 treatment about once a month, after each wash for the tires

German Gummi Pfledge is very good. You can get it online or at a BMW dealer.

I've used both 303 & GummiPfledge, both great products.

I also use Adam's VRT as well as Aerospace 303. I think the VRT lasts longer. Use it on my tires as well.

In addition to the dielectric silicone grease that most folks use, GM makes a special Weatherstrip Lube that works well and leaves no residue after drying, but it's rather pricey.
