I have a '17 2LT that I purchased new in November last year. Car has about 4K miles. Several times, perhaps 6 or so, my auto dimming mirrors switch to the full dim setting. But ONLY the left outside mirror and the inside mirror, never the right outside mirror. Thinking back, I think it's usually (maybe always) around dusk. Once or twice the two dimmed mirrors have cycled back to the normal setting, but then immediately changed back to fully dimmed. Is this normal? I've never had this problem with other manufacturers. Thanks!
Ok given that, should the two that DO auto dim be going full dim at dusk in normal conditions?
Mine do, and I've been bitching about the lack of an on/off switch since 2014. I purchased a set of Light Dims and covered the sensor in the rearview mirror.
I can still pull them off if some douche in a lifted truck is blasting his brights behind me .

I have a 2015 Stingray and have experienced the same inappropriate/unsafe dimming of those same two mirrors. A very unsafe situation in dusk or nighttime driving! How did you disable the autodimming feature, what/where exactly did you block the sensor?

On the road right now, but when I get home I'll give you a proper answer.
Pretty sure the right side is not auto dimming. Put a small piece of tape over the sensor, which is in the rear view mirror, for both mirrors, no light will be able to activate the dimming. should solve the problem

Is it really that big a deal? I can still see with the mirror in dim mode... You could turn your lights off until it's actually dark. It's funny, I had a 2001 Audi A6. All three mirrors were auto dimming, and would undim if you put it in reverse. Brilliant. I miss the passenger side mirror dimming. It's always some stupid truck with a bunch of landing lights in the grill...
It is really a big deal to me. I can't see anything except dim car lights behind me in both mirrors at dusk. When a car doesn't have its lights on I cannot see it at all - nada, nothing.
