C7 Reliability = A+

C7 Reliability = A+
2014 2LT purchased 10/13. Low VIN. Daily driver. Mostly short trips with occasional longer trips. 15,000 miles. 5 oil changes at dealer. That's it. Period, the end. Most trouble free car I've ever owned. Would you like to hear my BMW stories?

Please Lord, no! I used to work on them. Hideous prices on parts, WAY over-engineered and complex.
And it's ALL the German makes, not just BMW. I'll never own one, just because I can't stand the thought of the maintenance.
Now, my C5? 283,xxx miles. My C7: 102,xxx. My Ford CV? 240,xxx My Honda Accord? 140,xxx. Nothing other than normal wear items in all of them.
Have a good one,
Mike

I have to be honest; If I had the A8 I'd be scared to drive on a long road trip.

Sold my 2014 Z51 (VIN 111822) over a week ago with 52K miles on the clock. Aside from one trip for warranty work (center screen jitters), it was trouble free

I'm not scared, I've got 7000 trouble free miles on mine and not a hint of a problem. And even with the problems some people do report with their A8s on here, it's not like the car immediately leaves you stranded. It just starts showing minor symptoms of a problem, and it's nothing that makes the car undriveable.

Never getting another BMW again. Under the CPO warranty I had the following replaced: Rear differential, high pressure fuel pump, water pump, 2 banks of injectors(6 total), head unit and convertible top. I also knew my SA by first name. Not fun driving home from work in Limp mode.

I don't think it's the C7's that has the A+ reliability. I really think it about time that the U.S. auto industry is producing a good quality car that the Japanese cars took away from us in the 1980's.
GM and Ford has stepped up their game and are producing good quality cars now to compete with the foreign market.
Dodge.....not so much.

8800 miles in 9 months, including 3500 miles on two road trips... One visit to the dealer to look at and document a noise at 2000 miles that disappeared on its own, and an oil change... Best car I have ever owned...

Personally, last year I drove an A8 C7 2,000 miles round trip to Drag Week and another 1,000 miles during Drag Week. Not a single problem or concern.
One thing I've noticed, once the A8 goes into performance mode, it's the most awesome auto I've ever driven. The low speed, driving in traffic and AFM performance is where most of the complaints are centered.

No, but posting/cut'npaste of the car's VIN/GMVIS, report here, might lend credence to your "A+" claim.

Yup, the C7 has been one reliable car. Even the A8 issues seems to have died down. I know several owners of A8s. When I ask them about their transmission I get this blank stare, like "what are you talking about?" stare. Not one has even a hint of a problem. Personally, I'd have no problem buying an A8.

I don't see how 15k miles in five years says much of anything about how trouble free a car is. At two years and 16k miles, I've had a windshield washer pump fail, but it seems far too early in the car's life to make a judgement about reliability.
