It depends on if you have an automatic or manual. What's yours? I have used it, but do better by just slamming the throttle to the floor!

I've never used it but to activate it I think this is the process:
Go to track Mode
Push the center button (on the mode control dial on the console) twice. This puts the car in performance mode.
The dial will now select from several performance modes rather than moving you between Eco-Sport-Track, Etc.
Select the mode you want, I'm told Sport 1 works okay but I believe there's 5 performance modes.
Hold the brake pedal down and simultaneously floor the throttle until the RPMs stop climbing. Back in the day this was known as "power brakng" and was used to smoke the tires.
Release the brake and hold on.

I should have said in the beginning I have the 7 spd manual. When I hit the center button twice it says Stabillitrack Activated on the DIC but I have no modes at all to choose from. From what I've seen I put the clutch down with the pedal to the floor to 5000 RPM then pop the clutch up. I just wanted to hear from someone who's actually done it. Thanks.

Click the link I posted. It'll lead you to instructional videos from Spring Mountain where they demonstrate how to use Launch Control.

I would add, however, that if you don't tap the center button twice quickly and don't see that you re in Launch Control mode then I wouldn't be flooring the gas with the clutch in. I'm not sure if all C7's have Launch Control, I would think they did but it might only be Z51's/Z06/ZR1's. It wouldn't hurt GM to put an indicator up saying "Launch Control enabled" to squash the fears of flooring the car without first properly setting this.

Supposely with the M7 you floor it.It will go to redline and then go back between 3000,4000 rpm’s.Then you let the clutch up.
Next step is no lift shift.

You floor it only if properly set. It doesn't go to redline rather it settles in at around 4K rpm (IIRC). That's the M7 the A8 settles in at 3k or so. The videos all explain this. I guess nobody has the time to view them.

The above link doesn't work for me. I get a Google page with suggestions on how to search.

I successfully tried launch control the other day in my A8 GS. My rpms settled just below 2k. What are you guys with automatics seeing for RPM at launch?

Unfortunately my 0-60 timer did not actuate. It’s hard to find a good road to try this on without bringing attention to yourself.

Sorry the rpm's mentioned is incorrect example in auto you only take the rpm's to 1500 while holding the brake on the left side of the pedal then release the brake and pedal to the floor then. This is the method taught by Ron Fellows and was demonstrated

My last 2 cents piece. Caution advice from people who tried it one or twice and couldn’t figure it out and say they hate it. That is not real world data

I've seen all the videos. Thanks. I was hoping for advice from a person who had used it. I know how to use Google search.

That means it worked perfectly!

After it plays that little animation it has a box with click here bouncing up and down pointing to a button that says "Google Search". Did you ever think "Hey what happens when I click that?".

In my defense (because lord knows I'll be admonished for trying to be "cute"), lmgtfy.com used to just do a little animation then present you with the Google search results page. They changed that but still I really don't think it was that difficult to figure out!

Suffice to say the instructors at Spring Mountain have used it and they gave you their advice.
